Lalisa Manoban was having a terrible day. The cause of her horrid mood was the gold-lined wedding invitation she had just received in the mail. The wedding invitation itself was actually a good thing, her brother Jackson was finally getting married to his long-time girlfriend Heo Young-ji in 2 weeks. But going to the wedding meant that she would have to see all the people she has been avoiding for the past 5 years.
She sighed as she looks out the window of the bus, heading to meet Jisoo at a cafe. After what happened in her 3rd year of high school she didn't want to see any of them again. From time to time she would miss the strong friendship she had with them, especially Chae, but she is also too scared to actually ask for forgiveness.
Her phone's ringtone suddenly pierced the silence of the bus causing her to jump a little in shock before slipping it out of her purse.
"Where are you?"
She rolled her eyes, grinning a little hearing her beloved eonnie's voice.
"Hi to you too"
"Are you coming"
"Jesus, chill, I'm right up the street."
"I have been waiting for 10 minutes"
"I'm almost there, and, for your information, it has only been nine minutes."
"I don't care, hurry up." and with that Jisoo hung up.
Lisa put her phone away, with a small smile, shaking her head, and bows a little at the bus driver as he wishes her a good day. Stepping out of the bus, Lisa quickly makes her way to a small cafe. As she walks in, the bell on the door rings in greeting and she is immediately washed with the strong but comforting aroma of coffee and warm pastries.
She smiles at Mijoo, Jisoo's coworker, who greets her back with a grin before turning back to the person from whom she is taking an order. Lisa glances around the cafe, searching for her eonnie amongst the crowds of college students on their lunch break.
She grins when she spots an impatient Jisoo scrolling on her phone as she sits at a table on the far end of the cafe. Lisa hurries over to the table, not wanting to make Jisoo wait any longer for she knows how her eonnie can be with punctuality.
"Annyeong eonnie," she greets, sitting in the chair across from the grumpy Jisoo. Jisoo just greets her with a glare.
"You made me wait so long, I'm starving and my break is almost over," Jisoo whines, pouting a bit. Lisa just smiles a little before turning around and gesturing to Mijoo to come and take their order. Mijoo grins and walks over to them, waving goodbye to one of the many male college students who is pinning for the ethereal woman.
"What can I get for you gorgeous young ladies," Mijoo teases when she reaches their table, winking at her two friends. Lisa and Jisoo grin back at her before reaching for the menu, pretending like it isn't their thousandth time here.
