Her hands fly to his collar, tugging him closer. Her lips meet his, her head only slightly lower than his as his eyes nearly pop out of their sockets.
He felt completely unprepared. You'd think all that time spent with her would've taught him all there was to know about her, except every aspect of what she did in that moment shocked him. Yes, she was bold, and yes, she works for what she wants. But this ? This is something he'd never expected from her in a million years. Neither of them were expressive, but she wasn't afraid to show her dorky personality in front of him.
"Anyway," She says, pulling away from her. "Good night." She smiles cheekily, ruffling up his hair into a scrambled mess and pulling her jacket tighter around her. She waves shyly, winking and turning on her heels, ready to bolt upstairs to scream into her pillow.
This wasn't right. The kiss was full of surprise, unpreparedness if you will. Admittedly it was really nice, but it wasn't what he'd expected.
His hand gently encircles her warm forearm, tugging her back. He removes his hand from her arm to her waist, tugging her closer, his other palm on the side of her face. This time, they were both much more prepared. He wasn't shy with his actions anymore, letting her hands balance on his shoulders.
This was right. 'This' was amazing.
His hand gently tugged the back of her head into his, the cloth of her sweatshirt piling up against his arm pressed against her back, the cloth piled on his skin. She was small comparatively to him, her thin silk camisole contrasting against her pale skin even. His hoodie made him look intimidating before, but his hands were feather soft on her cheek and around her waist, not cinching either too tight.
It felt like an eternity after they pulled apart, but at one point, they did. His hands slowly drift back into his pockets, a charming smile drawn on his face. "So...That was unexpected."
"That it was." She smiles, looking down at the floor. "Can't say I didn't like it."
"Me neither."
"What are we ?" He asks, his words breaking through the brittle silence slowly. "Are we....dating ? Not dating ? What's our relationship ?"
She grins slowly, a fist going out to punch his shoulder as it usually did. "I guess I'm your girlfriend, dork." She says, her heart racing faster than her mind was. What if he didn't want what she wanted ?
"Nice...," Foolishly grinning into a pillow tonight ? It was guaranteed. "I like that." He nods, smiling tight-lipped. His brilliant white teeth didn't peek past his lips, and his dancing eyes gave away his excitement.
"Good night." She repeats, a shy smile etched on her face.
"Bye." He nods, nearly pivoting before he stops, noticing she hadn't moved. "You need something ?"
She doesn't say anything, her long slender arms reaching out and wrapping around his neck with her chin on his shoulder. He smiles, sliding his touch around her waist and letting her inch closer to him.
Lisa snuggled in, "You're the only person I know that gives indefinite hugs."
He laughs softly, "Who else could put up with you ?"
In that moment, his arms squeezed a fraction tighter, and she breathed more slowly, her body melting into his as every muscle lost its tension to the winter air. "Just a couple more minutes..." She mutters latching on to him.
"Normally, I'd say a thousand times yes, but I think you should get some rest." He grins, pulling away and shaking his head stubbornly when she leans back into him. "Do you know you late it is?"
"You should know better than to think I'd care." She smiles, pulling away from him and hugging her arms close to her body for warmth.
"Bye." He waves. "You look like the cold's getting to your head." He chuckles, snapping out of his soft trance.
"You look like a stale poptart." She grins bluntly.
"No acting different around me, then ?" He laughs in relief. "Thank god." He smiles. "Does this mean you'll laugh at my jokes ?"
"If you think I'll giggle at everything you do-"
"You lost me at giggle."
"I knew I liked you," She smiles proudly.
"Oh really ?" He raises an eyebrow. "And what exactly do you like about me ? I feel like being flattered today." He crosses his arm, his head an inch above hers though her foot was easily resting on 6 more inches of cement than he was.
"I like that you've got good taste." She offers, pointing to her. "You picked me."
"Yeah, I like that about me too." He nods. "Continue, that's not enough compliments."
"You're not too cheesy." She says truthfully.
"Does that imply that I'm a little cheesy ?" He smiles.
"No. You just get really stupid when you're flustered." She ponders for a while. "Though that might just be you showing me your true colors."
"Idiot." He mutters. "You've got no jacket."
"And you've apparently got decent vision." She pats his shoulder in praise.
He cracks a smile, but suppresses it, rolling his eyes and saluting her with a casual flick of fingers separating from his forehead. "Good night, dummy !"
"What, no pet name ?" She teases. He lets his middle finger stand out between the rest of his folded fingers, and she lets out a laugh, relentlessly continuing. "Sugar ? Cupcake ?"
"Those aren't pet names, that's just your obsession for sweets coming through." He chuckles, only about 4 feet away from her.
"Guilty." She nods.
"When are you not ?"
"When I'm not." She winks.
"Get inside." He groans. "It's cold."
"You go first." She says, her teeth biting her lip unconsciously.
He waves flirtatiously, raising his eyebrows at her. She swats him away, and he walks for a moment before grinning mischievously and turning around with a childish grin. He pivots around, kissing her cheek and whispering in, "I don't think I finished my essay."
"Go !" She insists, trying not to laugh.
His eyes flick into a mischievous glance, and he swats the air, his fingers fanned out elegantly to cover the red color on his cheeks that wasn't there because he was flustered, but because it was really fucking cold outside. "No, you go !" He giggles, twirling an imaginary strand of hair.
"You're corny." She scoffs with a smile, stepping up a stair whilst still facing him.
"You like me for it !" He claims, running off.
She walks up the stairs, making it to her dorm and whispering under her breath, "I guess you're not all that stupid, then."
