Chapter 23 + 24 [Snippet Only]

[Snippet 1 - ch 23]

"Saifah, what are you doing around here?" I ask Saifah because normally, he doesn't come to the CommArt faculty. 

"Oh, you are ai'Thai and ai'Junior friend, right? I'm here to give something to them na."

"It's true that I'm their friend but, why are you talking strangely like this?"

"Strange?"

"Well, you talk like we are not close."

"We are not close, isn't that so?"

"But, you and I are close na Saifah. We are boyfriend na woie."

"Wait-" Ai'Saifah chuckles as he looks at me from my head to toe. "Ai'Thai and ai'Junior ask you to come and tease me right?"

"Saifah."

"Hoie! You really understand the script well that you perform well until make a sad face huh?" Saifah says as if he's a person who's really not my boyfriend. 

"B-But... we are really boyfriend na Saifah. We perform songs together at the football's club event. We practice singing and playing guitar for a long time. Plus, you are the one who taught me."

"Wait- about singing and playing guitar, that's true but I didn't practice guitar with you na. We only met on the day to perform. What are you try to lie at me? And you, what's your name? At that time, ai'Thai did introduce you but, I don't remember."

"Zon."

"Yes, Zon. So, where are your friends? I leave their things to you, can I?"

"Sure." I reach out to get the bag from Saifah. I look at him who's smiling like he's really not close with me.

"Saifah..."

"What?"

"What about the kiss we had?"

"What the heck are you saying? What kiss?"

"The kiss we had when we argued because of Fai."

"I think you remember it wrongly. You and I... what's your name again?"

"Zon."

"Yes, Zon... we never had such a thing. Those guys ask you to tease me right?"

"..."

"Am I right?"

"Y-Yes... they ask me to tease you."

"I knew it!" Saifah grins and caresses my head. This feeling, it feels so real and so familiar, but why...

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"Saifah... (sobs)... I..."

"..."

"I am really your boyfriend."

I don't know the tears which continuously running down right now, are due to which matter that is upsetting. 

Maybe because Saifah and I are no longer boyfriend or is it because the look in his eyes that pay no attention at me who's crying here. 

Saifah who doesn't recognize me. 

Saifah who shows no interest in me who's crying in pain. 

Saifah who's no longer mine. 

Not... anymore.

[Snippet 2 - ch 24]

"Zon."

"..."

"What are you thinking about... dear?" A voice whispers to my ear which sounds so familiar cause me to startle and immediately turn around to look. 

Saifah is beaming and somehow frowning as if he's wondering. I press my lip tightly when I see the sight in front of me is real.

"Saifah." The tone I use to call him is so gentle, in contrast with my heart which is pumping harshly as I didn't know how to express the happy feeling I feel right now. 

However, in the end, I can only hug him, placing my forehead against the chest of the person before me.

Saifah pauses for a moment, then reaching out to caress my back gently, like he's trying to comfort me.

"What's wrong? Suddenly come to hug in the middle of the university.  Who said that he doesn't like to do things like this in public?"

"..." 

I didn't answer him as I only shake my head. My hands are grabbing his shirt tightly right now like I'm scared that he will disappear from me. 

"What's wrong krub? Hmm? Can you tell me?"

"Do you know right now, what is the thing that I most afraid of?"

"..."

"I'm scared that my life would return like how it was before."

"Like before, like what?"

"Like before where there's no you." I gaze up at the bigger person who shows a faint smile while his long slender fingers are caressing my cheek as he cherishes it.
