I was tiredly laying on the couch having my oat as dinner after long hours shopping with Melissa. Most likely she shops like a maniac like Summer while I was just her companion and window shop. Most of my money would spend on food.

Most girls are shopaholics. Perhaps I was from another planet among the girls.

Speaking of Summer, she insisted to pay the remaining shared rental with me before I shift out of this place because she thought that was over my parents' burden to pay the rental.

We had refused her to pay for it by knowing she was working her ass hard to get paid more than two part-time jobs because the income was only dependent on her and her dad's low-paid job. Somehow, she stubbornly insisted to pay us.

Well, typical Summer.

Even though Summer seems like cope with her hard time, back to her usual bright demeanor, but I knew she was good at cover her emotion. She hates people to know her weak side.

Thankfully, I soon get a good rent which was suggested by Melissa also she would be my housemate to be. She told me that her housemate will shift out after his graduation and that was the right time for me to shift in.

I sighed after I had a train of thought about Summer's conditions. I was too bored to search for anything to entertain me, I just let the TV running for making the room alive stop my thinking and relax.

The TV was playing the news which I rarely watched except entertainment news. Why? Because I do enjoy knowing my favorite hot celebrities' latest information.

Somehow, the news causes the temperature of my body to decrease in my cozy living room. I couldn't believe what I was watching the screen playing. I covered my mouth in shock when the title is written 'A pair of a couple involved in fatal accident' along with Summer's parent's pictures.

It can't be!

My hands were shaking when I was taking the phone from the coffee table and called my dad, but my dad called me before I dialed as I quickly answered with my shaky voice, "Hello, dad."

"Have you seen the news, sweetheart?" I could hear my dad said as calmly as he could as I wasn't able to speak at the moment. I nodded my head even though he couldn't see it. I tried to breathe and uttered, "Yes."

I heard my dad sighed from the phone as he eventually said in a depressed tone, "Look, we're right the way to Kingsley hospital to see Richard and Sandra. We'll see you there, alright?"

"Okay, I'll see you there, dad," I said as I wiped off my tears and heading out of my studio with my purse and car key hurriedly.

I was speeding up my driving and cut the lane for reaching the hospital as soon as I could. Somehow, it took me 30 minutes to be there in heavy traffic.

I rushed to the emergency department to meet my parents and gave them a quick hug. I pulled away from them as I asked, "Are Mr. and Mrs. Brightly okay?"

Somehow, my parents' facial expression was not something I expected after my long prayer since I received the news. I let my eyes close to brace myself to hear the answer from them.

I felt my parents pulled me into a hug as I embraced them. They were my parents' best friends also my respectful elders as my parents. I heard my mum sobbing as my dad said with his trembling voice, "They couldn't make it during the surgery because they bled out."

I eventually cried after receiving the tragic news from my parents, as my dad gently pulled me away. When I saw my parents, I choked with a sob by seeing the pain in their faces with tears. I asked with my crack voice, "Where's Summer?"
