"Sit down, please" Jungkook said, pointing to one of the chairs in the room. "Thanks" Taehyung said and pulled the chair close to Jungkook's bed.
"I have a doubt. Why are you a Kim?" Jungkook asked as Taehyung flopped onto the chair. "Why shouldn't I be a Kim?" Taehyung asked. "I thought you would be a Park" Jungkook said. "Aaaahh" Taehyung dragged, understanding where Jungkook was coming from.
"Time to explain my family history to you, then" Taehyung said, straightening himself on the chair and clearing his throat dramatically. "Take notes, kid" he said, adjusting the imaginary specs on his nose.
Jungkook chuckled at his antics. 'I can use some drama in my life' he thought.
"So, my grandfather, Park Seojoon, had two daughters. The older daughter was Park Jihyo and the younger was Park Mina. I don't know much about Aunt Jihyo, but the company was given to my father. My dad's name is Kim Baekhyun. He has an older brother, Kim Chanyeol. He got his father's company. My dad married my mother and got our company. Are you taking notes?" Taehyung suddenly stopped and asked.
Jungkook, who was already acting like he was taking notes on his hand, just showed his hand to Taehyung. "Wouldn't dare to leave it" he said, pressing his lips together to stop himself from laughing.
"Good boy. Now, Aunt Jihyo has a son named Park Jimin. He is my soulmate, okay? We grew up together since we were six and we love each other more than anything else" Taehyung said. Jungkook felt disappointed for a second.
"Then why did you agree to this marriage?" he asked. Taehyung stared at him like he suddenly grew a butt on his head. It took some time for him to understand why Jungkook had that doubt.
"We are platonic soulmates. P.L.A.T.O.N.I.C" he said, waving his hand around dramatically. "I know how to spell it" Jungkook mumbled.
"Good. We love each other as brothers. Not as lovers. He is going to stick around all the time even after the marriage. Or I am going to stick around him. I hope you don't have any problem with that" Taehyung said.
"Of course not" Jungkook said. "Good. That's my family history and list of friends. Now you spill" Taehyung said. "Wait. That's it? Just your cousin? No one else?" Jungkook asked, wondering why such a bright, outgoing person had only one friend.
"I have many friends, but none of them are worth mentioning. Just Jimin. Oh, yeah. I actually wanted to omit this cause it isn't very nice and happy, but let's not omit anything, agreed?" Taehyung asked.
Jungkook smiled. He liked this man. He nodded and waited for Taehyung to spill whatever he had omitted.
"When Jimin and I were in high school, our mothers went on a vacation. You remember that freak Ferris Wheel accident that happened around that time? You might have been in middle school" Taehyung said, remembering that Jungkook was two years younger than him.
"I was in high school, two years ahead of my class. But yeah, I remember that one" Jungkook said, frowning slightly, hoping it didn't go where it seemed to be going.
"Our mothers were involved in it too" Taehyung mumbled, suddenly sounding uncharacteristically sad. "Ohh, I am very sorry, Taehyung-ssi. I am really very sorry for your loss" Jungkook said, pouting slightly. He really did feel bad for Taehyung and his cousin.
"Anyways" Taehyung said, brightening up suddenly. "My father took care of Jimin and me after that. I mean, he already was taking care of us, but after the accident, he was the only one who took care of us" he said.
"I think I understand why you and your cousin are close" Jungkook said, nodding his head slowly. "Yeah. Also, you can call me Taehyung or hyung. Just don't call me Taehyung hyung. It is really weird" Taehyung said.
Jungkook laughed out loud. "Yeah, it is weird. Let me get used to being around you. The honorifics will stop automatically" he said. "Okay" Taehyung said. "You can drop honorifics around me too" Jungkook said. "Sure, Jungkookie" Taehyung said, earning a grin from Jungkook.
"Now spill your stuff" he said, suddenly frowning at Jungkook. "Take notes, hyung" Jungkook said, grinning widely as he cleared his throat dramatically, just like Taehyung had done.
"Yes, sir" Taehyung saluted and chuckled before settling back on his chair to listen to Jungkook's family history.
"My grandfather, Jeon Hyungsik, had a son. And that son had a son, who is sitting right in front of you. My mother divorced my father when I was four, and my family never talks about her. So I don't know anything about her. Just that I had an older brother. My mom won child custody over him.
My father kinda lost interest in the company affairs after she left him and gave the company back to my grandfather. Four months after I turned twenty one, my grandfather handed the company to me. Seven months ago, at the New Year's Party of the Company" Jungkook said.
"Ohh. I have a doubt. If your older brother returns, will the company go to him?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah, most probably. Depends on whether he fights for it or not" Jungkook said sadly. "Ohh. I wish that asshole doesn't return" Taehyung said.
Jungkook chuckled. "Why are you calling him an asshole? He didn't do anything" he said. "I know" Taehyung huffed and crossed his arms on his chest. He opened his mouth to say something else, but someone opened the door.
"Jungkookie, I am sorry for disturbing, but if you just approve these papers, I will go back and continue my work" Seokjin said, walking in and closing the door behind him.
"Sure. Hyung, this is my fiance, Kim Taehyung. Taehyung-ssi, this is one of my best friends, Kim Seokjin" Jungkook introduced.
"Ohh?! Is this the Kim I was looking forward to meet? Wow. Hi, hyung. I am Taehyung" Taehyung said, suddenly very interested in the handsome man. "Hi, Taehyung-ssi. I am this dork's best friend and secretary" Seokjin said, pointing to Jungkook and shaking hands with Taehyung. "Nice, nice" Taehyung said.
Seokjin smiled at him and turned to Jungkook. "Okay, just approve these papers. I have a lot of work to do. We'll catch up some other day, Taehyung. I am sorry. This dork is here, so I have a lottt of work back at the company" he said. "It's okay, hyung. I understand" Taehyung said.
"Okay, so this Kim Hansung and Park Taemin are the new scouts?" Jungkook asked, staring at the papers in front of him. He didn't want to let Taehyung know about how he got pranked shitless by two jobless dorks. So he didn't mention anything about the new scouts being his neighbours.
"Yeah. They said they'll start working after a month" Seokjin said as Jungkook signed the papers. He looked at the two passport photos on the paper. As those photos were too old and slightly edited, he didn't realize that one of them was standing right in front of him.
Taehyung pressed his lips together, smirking internally for getting a new goat for his pranks.
"I'll get going then, Jungkookie. I will come again some other day" he said before he could burst out laughing and give himself away. "Sure. It was nice meeting you, Taehyung-ssi" Jungkook said. "You too, Kook. Bye, hyung" Taehyung waved at Seokjin. "Bye" Seokjin waved back at him.
Taehyung barely made it into his car before bursting out laughing.
He really got a nice goat this time.
A cute, handsome, innocent goat.
