Day 4 - Tier 1: Broken Promises
KagehinaThere's a dead character in this story but they were already dead when the story started so I'm not sure if that counts as a major character death so if anyone knows please let me know cause I have no idea. Now onto the angst
It was a gloomy day when they met. Fourteen-year-old Tobio Kageyama stood next to his crying mother as he watched the casket holding his father being lowered into the hole in the ground. That was it. 'Goodbye dad, forever.' He thought as he wiped a tear from his eye and hugged his mom.
The funeral ended a little while ago but the two stayed there. His mother blankly stared at the place where they had buried her husband. She was no longer crying, she just looked empty. Kageyama always got sad seeing his mom like this so he decided to take a little walk and give her some space.
He walked down the path in the cemetery. But as he walked past the many tombstones he noticed something. There was a small boy there, probably around his age, sitting on one of the stones.
Just like every kid, he was curious. He walked off the path and towards the stone.
He quietly approached the boy. It seemed as if he hadn't noticed Kageyama's presence and it would have stayed that way if it weren't for the stick that snapped when Kageyama stepped on it.
The boy quickly turned around to see who was there. He looked around until his eyes fell on Kageyama. His eyes widened and he quickly jumped off the stone and ran.
"Hey wait!" Kageyama yelled as he ran after him. He had caught up with him and redhead his hand out in an attempt to grab his wrist. When he did though his hand just went through almost as if he had touched nothing. He suddenly stopped running and looked down at his hand in fear.
The other boy stopped running as well. He turned around to look at Kageyama who was too busy staring down at his hand to notice the other had stopped.
Kageyama had thought running through his head. 'Am I just imagining things? What had just happened? Who is this kid?' He thought.
He looked up to see the little boy staring back at him. Now that he thought about it, the boy looked quite strange. He had fluffy orange hair, very pale skin, bags under his eyes, and big brown eyes. But what stood out the most to him was the fact that he was somewhat seethrough.
'What what?'
Kageyama seemed to have just noticed that he could perfectly see everything behind the kid. He stared at the kid in shock. 'Is this real?' He thought.
The boy walked closer to Kageyama now concerned due to the boy's sudden stop.
"Hey, are you ok?" He asked.
"Y-y-your...YOUR A GHOST!" Kageyama screamed as he fell back.
The redhead looked at Kageyama and pouted. "Well yeahI' m a ghost, duh." He said. He reached out a hand for Kageyama to take but when Kageyama reached for it his hand just passed through. Kageyama ended up just picking himself up.
After standing up he began walking away. The ghost boy took notice of this and followed behind.
Kageyama looked behind him with a confused expression. "Why are you following me? Weren't you just trying to run from me a couple of minutes ago?" He asked.
"Well yeah, I got startled, it's not every day a living person sees a ghost so I wasn't sure what to do and the first thing that came to mind was to run." He said with a smile "But then I saw how you freaked out when you found out I was a ghost and then you falling on your butt which by the way was super funny, anyways I noticed that you're harmless." The ghost said as he continued to walk beside Kageyama with bright smile.
