Wei Wuxian opened the door to his room, stepping outside, Chenqing in hand. Looking at the full moon, shining ever so brightly that night.

He jumped up onto a roof, holding Chenqing to his lips, he blew. The notes flowed out mindlessly, forming a melody of unfamiliarity to anyone who heard it other than himself.

Lan Zhan...

Hearing the unfamiliar melody, Jiang disciples crowded towards the source of the beautiful song. Wei Wuxian looked like a celestial being, glowing in the bright moonlight. Sitting ontop a roof in a serene night, blowing out soft notes from his flute.

"It's Wei Wuxian's long lost older brother! What is he talking to?" A young disciple said.

The moment the disciple said that, the notes stopped, Wei Wuxian was talking to something, but it wasn't something able to be seen.

Then, loud footsteps could be heard approaching. It was Jiang Fengmian, the sect leader shooed them off, jumping onto the roof Wei Wuxian sat ontop of.

Wei Wuxian twirled his fingers around the small ghosts dancing at his finger tips. The ghosts were attracted to the demonic cultivator's heavenly playing. They died tragically, and hearing the melody softened the burning resentment in them.

Jiang Fengmian approached Wei Wuxian, wondering what the latter was interacting with. Sitting next to him, he gently placed his hand on the Wei Wuxian's shoulder.

"You play the flute well. What is the piece called?" He said, breaking the calm night's silence. Wei Wuxian looked at the ghosts, unseen from the Jiang's point of view.

"I do not know the name." Tracing the carvings on Chenqing.

I don't even remember where it came from...

"I was never told the name." He looked at the man he used to call 'Uncle,' remembering of how he was never able to express his love for Madame Yu, and left Jiang Cheng feeling unloved by his father. A coward is what one would call him, he would always run away at any questions regarding his formerly unrequited love.

Bluntly his mouth said, "You should stop running like a coward." Those words pained Wei Wuxian to say, but he wasn't going to allow Jiang Cheng to believe he was unloved by his father until the day he died. "You should show your love to those you love, don't let your loved ones have rumors determine how you feel for them. You'll regret it sooner than later."

Jiang Fengmian was shocked, a Wei Wuxian was giving him words of wisedom? Now that, is accomplishing the impossible.

But Jiang Fengmian thought about it, he really was a coward wasn't he? He left the roof contemplating weither or not the Wei Wuxian was really a Wei Wuxian, and how he could try the odd Wei Wuxian's advise.

Wei Wuxian continued to sit ontop of the rooftop, staring at the moon, when more ghosts appeared.

"Your a wise one aren't you? You have been through a lot, even more than us dead ones, haven't you?"

"I suppose I may have. I must change the outcome of the past, then maybe, I can die in peace." Wei Wuxian was ever so tired. He wanted to sleep, but his heart didn't allow him. It was as if something was making him stay awake.

Holding his black flute up to his lips once again, notes of the unnamed melody flowed out for the rest of the night. The peaceful night accompanyed by the soft sounds of a flute, soothing the nightmares of those who heard the pleasant tune.

The night passed, Wei Wuxian returned to his room to change from his clothes. Bathing and changing into the YunmengJiang Sect disiple attire, hair in a half up half down, tied off with a purple ribbion instead of red. It's been a while hasn't it?

Exiting the room, he walked towards the dining hall for breakfast. Many disciples questioned how the elder walked through the halls with such familiarity, but shrugged off the thought.

He entered the dining hall to see an odd sight. Madame Yu had a softened expression at Jiang Fengmian, and Jiang Cheng was totally out of it. He was smiling at an empty bowl, scooping up nothing with his spoon and feeding himself with the empty spoon. It wasn't until Wei Ying barged in with yelling, that the two, out of character Jiangs snapped out of their daze.

The more usual scowl returned to their faces as thet stared down Wei Ying. Wei Ying put his hands up, "What?!" Yanli smacked his head, whispering to Wei Ying's ear. A small giggle escaped her as she left Wei Ying to go back to eating her breakfast. Wei Ying was shocked, but quickly grew a large smile.

"I'm so happy for you Cheng-Cheng! I told you it wasn't true!" He shouted.

The scowl on Jiang Cheng's frown grew, but a expression in his eyes only showed of the pride he gained. "Who are you calling 'Cheng-Cheng'?" Chasing Wei Ying out of the dining hall. Jiang Fengmian quietly watched to the side, to make them happy was as simple as that?

Few weeks passed by, it was time for their year long studies in Gusu. The three packed up their essentials. Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng doing everything they can to stop Wei Ying from bringing alchohol into the Cloud Recesses after Wuxian said it was prohibited.

After that ordeal was done, saying goodbye to the rest of the family, off they went. Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng bickered throughout, sometimes stopping to talk about how Jiang Fengmian finally said of his pride in Jiang Cheng. Causing a moment of silence, as they admire whatever the elder Wuxian had done to Uncle Jiang. They took occasional rests when needed, and soon enough, they reached the Cloud Resesses of the GusuLan Sect. Wei Wuxian's heart throbbed.

Welcome to the universe of universes my child, Lali here!

How was this chapter? It was more poetic than I meant for it to be, but it sounds good. As you can tell, you won't be able to know Wei Wuxian's new name until next chapter! When you read this, it may already be out, but who cares! Many things will be different since Wei Wuxian is going to try and change his families fate, which includes the Wen remnants. I hope whoever reads this looks foward the the next ongoing chapters, and I hope this fanfiction ends up with a storyline as good as it does in my head as it does when I finish it.

And goodbye good children! See you in the next chapter!
