Wen Qing took a look at the tests she did on Wei Zhouhui over and over, yet she couldn't find a clear cause of Wei Zhouhui's new core. This core accumulated after so much resent was stored inside Zhouhui. But a man, even if they practiced demonic cultivation, can't hold this much resent. If the resent was a spiritual energy, he could, but this much resentful energy wasn't possible for a living being.
She checked each test regarding his spiritual energy, but nothing could give her an answer. But then she looked at his physicals.
Oh. My. God.

Lan Nianzu insisted on a carriage, despite if they just flew on his sword, the trip would be much shorter. Looking inside the carriage often to make sure Zhouhui wasn't bleeding out to death through his mouth.
Wei Zhouhui slouched inside the carriage, the small bumps on the road sometimes bouncing Zhouhui quite a bit. Making his stomach churn at times. The boiling mass in his chest was still going hot, giving him the urge to cough out his guts, thankfully the medicine kept the blood to a minimum.
Lan Nianzu helped Wei Zhouhui make sure he didn't skip any herbal doses. Directing the horses onto the long trip back to the Cloud Resesses.

Eventually, after three days, the pair came to the entrance of Cloud Resesses in the middle of the night, so they camped outside until the sun rose once again.
Lan Nianzu set up a fire and temporary shelter, heating up Zhouhui's herbal concoctions.
"What happened before I passed out? The last thing I remember is you calling out my name. Way to go Lan Nianzu."
Lan Nianzu was startled by the sudden question as well as the insult, frowning, he answered.
"A force of energy came out from you, everyone around collasped, but me, and then you passed out. No one remembers."
Thank goodness, it would have been such a hassle if they found out anytime soon.
"Hm, why didn't the force of energy not hurt you? Now that I think about it, why are you here in the past? Did you die like I did?"
Lan Nianzu froze, he disliked the thought of the other's death.
"I don't have an idea, and no, I just woke up in my past."
They stared at each other's eyes, all in silence. But then rustling could be heard in a near distance.
The bushes in the sounds direction shook, Lan Nianzu took out his sword, pointing it towards the moving bush. But then the bushes separated to reveal a small figure.
"Brother! Your back!"
The figure revealed to be Wei Wuxian, as well as two large jars of Emperor's Smile tucked under his arms.
"Where have you been? With Lan Zhan's first brother too!" He then held up his hand to the side of his mouth, hiding it from Lan Nianzu's sight, mouthing 'Did you know him well in your past?' to Wei Zhouhui.
Wei Zhouhui nodded, "Come here, it's forbidden to sneak alcohol the the Cloud Resesses, alcohol is forbidden itself, and entering the Cloud Resesses after nine is also forbidden. Do you want to get caught by Lan Wangji and get hit by the discipline boards a hundred times or write the rules three hundred times on paper with Lan Wangji and get bored to death?"
Lan Nianzu glared at Wei Zhouhui, highly offended.
Wei Wuxian felt disappointed by his future self's lack of fun, "Why are you nagging me like that? How boring!"
But instead of continuing onto his path of causing Jiang Cheng's first wrinkles, he actually plopped down next to the two.
"Where did you guys go? You two just disappeared into thin air after the waterborne abyss was dealt with." He asked, popping open one of the jars of Emperor's Smile, handing over the other to the two seniors, "You want some? It isn't forbidden here."
Wei Zhouhui looked at the jar of alcohol, I haven't drank Emperor's Smile in years.
He then reached out one hand to accept the jar. Popping open the jar in the same manor as Wei Wuxian, and poured the Emperor's Smile down his throat.
It was so strong and spicey, exactly the way he had remembered it to be. Wei Zhouhui felt content, the memories caused from these exact two jars of Emperor's Smile made him feel like he could change the world. Memories of his past, flashed through his head, some of the painful one too of course.
But then something clicked.
The Wens died from the cultivation world not being able to see the Wen Remnants innocence. They just saw that their surname was Wen and assumed the worst. If not for their black and white perspectives, Jin Zixun wouldn't assume I cursed him, Jin Zixuan wouldn't have died, the Wens and Jiang Yanli wouldn't either, which wouldn't cause me to lose control, killing those three thousand people at Nevernight!
Wei Zhouhui drank the last drop of Emperor's Smile, then slamming the empty jar next to him on the ground.
If their perspectives aren't so black and white, I can live in peace!
Zhouhui stood up, new confidence sprouting over his face. He strongly declared,
"So I'll have to make it grayscale."

So, the true meaning of the title of this fanfiction has finally been revealed! The illness of Wei Zhouhui is going to contribute a lot to his new mission, so share your theories if you'd like! I always found so many things that could have been avoided if these egotistical trashlords of the cultivation world simply considered a single word Wei Wuxian said, they could have saved a whole three thousand lives. So please look forward to future chapters, I have a lot in store for this fanfiction, as it's just the beginning to Wei Zhouhui's journey.
And goodbye good children! See you in the next chapter!
