Chapter 19

Y/N POV

Today was the day we were to grab the relic, and move out to Atlas. With all of us here, we were sure to not encounter any problems. When we got there, I immediately got a bad feeling about this. My hands started to feel clammy, and I could tell Jacklyn started to notice.

Jacklyn: You okay?

Y/N: Until I know for certain, keep your fingers close to the triggers. Something doesn't feel right.

Ruby: You're being paranoid. All we have to do is get to the vault, grab the relic, and roll credits, we're done here.

Y/N: Rosebud... last time something like that was said... I nearly lost my fire team.

She looked dejected, but I gave her a side hug, and ruffled her hair.

Y/N: But thanks for trying.

Soon, we all entered Haven Academy. I looked at the giant statue, and Lionheart was standing over a wooden railing.

Lionheart: Ahh, welcome. There... appears to be quite a bit more of you than before.

Y/N: Well, the more the merrier, right?

My ghost started to speak into my helmet.

Ghost: Guardian, I am monitoring his vitals, and his heart rate has accelerated, and his pupils shrunk.

Y/N: Is something wrong, Professor?

Lionheart: Oh... I just haven't had my cup of tea today.

Ghost: He's lying.

I slowly started to make my approach.

Y/N: Do you know what a cold sweat is, Professor?

Leo: I'm sorry?

Y/N: A cold sweat... it's when you get nervous or anxious about something, and you start to sweat in different places besides your forehead. I for one know that my back gets the worst of cold sweat. So... tell me Professor...

I triple jumped to where he is, and I stand in front of him.

Y/N: Why so nervous?

Leo: I...

I heard the sound of a bird call, and I looked behind me.

Y/N: A raven... wait...

I looked over, and Qrow tried to shoot the bird. The bird flew over towards us, and turned into Raven behind Leo.

Y/N: Well now... here's a surprise. You must be Raven.

Raven: Indeed... by the way, thanks for looking after my daughter.

Y/N: Cut the shit. I know something is up, and I feel like I know what that is.

A black portal opened, and I heard a familiar scream.

Y/N: Oh no... you didn't do what I think you did, did you?

Raven: You mean aside from looking at what options I had between being slaughtered by a bunch of alien freaks and staying alive, and choosing the latter? Yes, I did make a deal.

Jacklyn: HIVE!!! WEAPONS FREE!!!

They were starting to pour out of the portal, so I jumped down there, and started blasting with my Trust. Thankfully, the Dragonfly perk makes easy work of them. The hive eventually stopped where they stood, and we ceased firing.

Yang: Why did they stop?

Jacklyn: We call them the hive because they're a hive mind.

Y/N: That means they're not stopping because they want to... the leader is coming.

Sure enough, a deep roar was heard by all of us, and a bigger portal opened up... a much bigger one. What stepped out made my heart stop... the Wizard bastard that pulled me to this world.

Y/N: You...

Wizard: Ahhh, you all survived... bravo. I guess I need to take off the kiddie gloves as you humans put it.

Jacklyn: Cut the shit. We already assessed that you're not the one leading this horde. So who is?

Wizard: On that, you're right. However, I am only a second. The real hive mind... well, that would be telling. You don't need to worry about that. What you need to worry about... is them.

The hive swarmed us again, and luckily I had a void firewall grenade handy. I threw it at a group, and they all burned and died. I looked over, and I saw an exotic engram.

Y/N: DIBS!!!

I ducked, dodged and weaved through the horde, and I snagged the engram. What came out of it made me giggle, and then break out laughing. I pulled the trigger once on the hand cannon, and all the hive went up in a blaze of solar blasts. When it was silent, I stood there, holding my all time favorite gun...

Y/N: I got the Sunshot bitches.

Jacklyn: You do know that's not always the best gun, right?

Y/N: You do know who you're talking to, right? I make this baby into a killing machine.

???: ENOUGH!!!

There was another blast behind us, and we stared at the wizard.

Wizard: You have delayed my plans for the last time, guardians.

Y/N: That's what you said last time, but here we are, asshole. Sis... hit him with the one-two.

She nodded, and pulled out the twin fox tails. She let loose of the rockets, and the wizard took some damage. He let out a shriek of pain, and fell to the ground.

Wizard: You... will not win this war...

Y/N: Maybe... maybe not.

I walked up to him, and prepped a void grenade.

Y/N: But at least we will win the battle, you son of a bitch.

I forced the grenade down his throat, and he started to burn from the inside out. Soon enough, he was engulfed in the flames of the void.

Wizard: THE HIVE GOD WILL RISE AGAIN!!! HE WILL DEVOUR THIS PLANET!!!

Those were his last words before he was nothing more than ash. We all looked at the remains, and I felt a hand enter mine. I looked over, and it was Weiss.

Weiss: I get the feeling that is not a friendly reminder, right?

Y/N: You would be right, snow Angel.

Oscar: Well... at least it's over for the most part, right?

Y/N: Unfortunately not, kid.

I started to walk out of the building, but I was met with a familiar face.

Y/N: Blake?

The girls were all silent, and I approached her. Blake could only just stand there.

Blake: I'm so sorry I left you behind. I didn't want you guys to be fighting my battles, but I guess they came to you in the end. I wanted you guys to all hate me... and I'm so sorry...

I kept approaching her, removing my helm and my gauntlets. She was starting to get scared and worried.

Blake: Will you please say something? You're starting to make me worried. Didn't you hear me? I WANTED you to absolutely despise me!! Don't you guys hate me?

I reached out to her, and she closed her eyes.

Blake: If you wanna hit me, then go ah-mmmm!!

I interrupted her by kissing her deeply. I closed my eyes, just letting my tears flow. Pretty soon, I felt her melt into it, and cried quietly. I quickly wrapped her into a hug, not breaking the kiss. She immediately wrapped her arms around me as well. We soon split, and I couldn't stop my tears.

Y/N: I could never hate you, baby girl... you were my first... why would I ever hate you?

All Blake could do was cry into my chest plate. Nothing else was said... there was no need for words at this point... all we knew was we were back together again in each other's arms. And to me... that was all I needed for tonight.
