Y/N POV
I'm standing over the edge of Beacon Academy, looking out over the city. I hear footsteps behind me, and I see Zavala, Ikora and Jacklyn.
Zavala: See anything, Guardian?
Y/N: Nope. Just remembering a tragedy that happened many years ago. When our enemies of old decided to strike a war against a once great nation. (Face it, even though I'm an American, our country isn't the greatest country anymore. It's a great nation, don't get me wrong, but it's not the greatest country anymore.)
Jacklyn: I know I remember that day.
Y/N: But they came back, and had a major target set on someone.
Soon enough, others showed up.
Ruby: I don't know what happened, but I feel like it was a big deal when it happened.
Yang: Odds are, it was little sister.
Y/N: It was a big deal. When one war was said to end all wars... it didn't. On that day, everything changed. Everyone was in shock when it happened, nobody could've predicted that it would happen, nobody didn't even know what was happening until it was too late.
Jacklyn: They kept fighting with everything they had until justice was done. But even then, they still attacked the country.
Zavala: The factions tried to bring down the country's morale, making it weak.
Ikora: But what it really did was make them fight harder and even more.
Y/N: And even when that was over, we still had wars. It never ended.
Weiss: Was it ever resolved?
I turned to Weiss, and stared into her eyes.
Y/N: I don't know.
I look up to the sky.
Y/N: That's yet to be discovered.
Hey guys, I wrote this in remembrance of 9/11, and it will be the day I release this. I'm writing this in advance. The day our country was attacked by terrorists was indeed a national tragedy. I was only three when it happened, but today, I feel the shock of the event. I pray every day for those that were lost on that tragic day, and those that gave their lives for our country. I'm not sponsored when I say this, but I recently discovered a nonprofit organization called Til Valhalla Project.
This group makes memorial plaques for military families who have lost loved ones who were in service. One thing I learned was their phrase "22 a day." This refers to how many veterans take their own lives in our country on a daily basis. I'm a firm supporter for our veterans as well as those who serve our country. If you or a loved one served our nation, or you know someone who served, I want to extend my sincere thanks for your service. I encourage my followers and anyone who reads this to check them out. They have some pretty good merchandise, and every penny you spend on them goes to them making plaques for families. Again, thank you guys so much for staying with me through this, and for those who served: thank you for your service, and I hope you have an amazing future. Gu ruige Valhalla, cùm a 'sabaid gus nach eil dad air fhàgail agad.
