"and it was all yellow."
-

We apparated back to the school, we were at the astronomy tower. The sky was a terrible grey, I felt like I knew what was to come.

"Stay here, I'll notify the teachers about my state," Dumbledore said before apparating away. Dread filled my veins... it was happening. The moment... Draco's moment. I turned to look at Harry.

"Severus... we need to contact Severus. Wake him, tell him what just occurred. Speak to no one." I said, grabbing his shoulders and looking at him with a bit of fear hidden in my hazel-brown eyes. He looked at me with confusion but he didn't question my words. That's smart.

"Severus, Harry," I repeated myself. My heart beat through my chest as I saw Harry begin to leave before turning around and looking at me. He looked hesitant like he wanted to stay with me. But, I knew he couldn't. Merlin... this was going to be the last time I ever saw his face... or even talked to him for that matter.

"Hide yourself below, Harry. Don't speak or be seen by anyone, do you understand?" I said. He nods his head. "Whatever happens... it's important if you stay hidden. Harry do as I say..." My voice was lost in the wind. My hair flew behind me and my black dress fanned out. The sound of a door opening and closing made my heart drop. He's coming. I bit my bottom lip to contain my shivers.

"Trust me," I spoke. Harry looked like he didn't want to leave me. "Trust me," I said once more. He finally ran down the stairs and my eyes followed him. I breathed out. My heart only escalated in pace. He disappeared from my vision. Goodbye, Harry Potter.

Once he had left I saw a patch of that all too familiar blonde hair entering the tower. I looked to see... Draco. My expression softened. He had his wand pointed straight at me with an expression only a man who's suffered years would know. He slowly walked around a beautiful angle-like statue till he was face to face with me. But we were only meters away.

"Hello, Draco. What are you doing up here?" I asked like I didn't know what he was up to.

"Who else is here? I heard you talking." He said. His voice was quickly rushed like he was grasping onto every word he spoke but they slipped.

"I happened to be speaking to myself—do you talk to yourself Draco?" I spoke. "Draco..." My voice suddenly broke. "You are no assassin," I said.

"How do you know what I am? I've done things that could shock you." Draco said with a shake in his voice. I could see his eyes tear up. "Like giving Slughorn a bottle laced with poison, hoping it would end up on my lips? I'm sorry to say this, Draco, but your attempts were so weak and feeble that I have begun to start to think you're not all that interested in your task." I spoke.

"He trusts me." He said before pulling up his left arm sleeve revealing a Death Eater tattoo. "I was chosen." I barely even looked down at the tattoo. Because I didn't care. A tattoo was just a tattoo... it didn't resemble the heart's true face.

He pulled his sleeve back down and pointed his wand back at me. I felt my eyes begin to sting. "I shall make it easier for you," I said before I began pulling out my wand.

"Expelliarmus!"

He quickly cast a disarming spell and it flew from my hand onto the floor with a crack. My wand rolled across the concrete ground before stopping abruptly. My breathing staggered before I looked back at Draco. His eyes were a slight red.

"Draco..." I whispered hesitantly. He clutched his wand tightly, glancing up at the winding grey sky behind me. I heard another door open. Death Eaters. I glanced to the side curiously.

"You're not alone... there are others. How?" I asked with confusion. "The vanishing cabinet in the room of requirement. I've been mending it." He said. So that's where he was going. All of this time.

"Let me guess. It has a twin... a sibling." I spoke already knowing the answer. "At Borgin and Burkes, they write a former passage." He said. Tears welled up in my eyes.

"Draco... five years ago... I knew a boy who kept making all the wrong choices. Please let me help you." I said practically begging with a broken cry. I could tell he was breaking down right before my very eyes.

"I don't want your help!" He cried out. "Don't you understand? I have to do this..." He trails off as tears fall onto his pale cheeks. I shook my head slightly as my heart ached. No, he didn't have to do this. He could choose.

"I have to kill you..." He said with a broken sob. No... Draco you're better than this. "Or he's going to kill me." He said with a whisper. Voldemort was going to kill Draco if he didn't kill me?

"I won't let them!" I determinedly yelled out. That sentence made Draco's pained expression soften. I completely meant what I had said. The twinge of protection I currently felt for the boy only grew substantially in the following seconds. It was like after I said those words I had cracked a candy shell and got to the sweet insides. His lips twitched a bit and his body had relaxed only a bit.

He started to lower his wand...

He started to lower his wand...

My expression softened. He's lowering his wand...

But, the moment was snatched away when I heard people entering the tower. Draco quickly went back to pointing his wand at me with a pained expression. No...

It was Bellatrix and two more Death Eaters along with her. She stopped walking before slightly grinning at me, her wild hair caught my attention as it blew wildly around her. "Well, look what we have here." She said. I looked at her with a tired expression. My eyes and lips were pink. If he didn't kill me... she would. She went behind Draco as more tears fell onto his cheeks. He didn't want to do this.

"Well done, Draco." She whispered. Her voice felt like pins and needles. The blonde boy trembled at her words.

"Good evening, Bellatrix. I believe introductions are in order, don't you think?" I said. "Love too, dearie. But, we're on a bit of a tight schedule. Do it!" She hissed. Her words weren't motivating the blonde-haired boy... it was breaking him from the inside out.

"He doesn't have the stomach... just like his father. Let me finish her in my way." A Death Eater said with a dirty scowl. No... he was just a good person, who grew up in a bad way. I bit my bottom lip.

"NO! The Dark Lord was clear that he is to do it." Bellatrix said. "This is your moment... do it. Come on... Draco! Now!" She screamed impatiently. My expression was pained and my heart sped.

"No..." I heard Snape's voice. I kind of breathed out with relief. Draco looked behind him and I saw Snape walking past him. He looked at me with a stern expression. This was it. There was a long silence as he stood in front of me.

Everyone stared at Snape, waiting for him to do something... anything. My curls blew into my face. My heart went cold. I gulped as I looked at him with a knowing expression. Deep down I knew... he didn't want to do this.

But, he promised me. He promised to kill me.

He couldn't back out now... I could hear my breathing as it went shallow. I looked down at the floor below to spot Harry just under the floor looking up at me with tears in his eyes, like he was begging me to allow him to save me. But I couldn't.

I looked back up at the man with the accentuated scowl and hooked nose.

"Severus..." I whispered. My voice stained the air. The cold wind around me sounded like an old woman's howl. I'll miss this place, the laughter, my friends... my brother... my mom. I felt my fingertips collect with sweat.

"Please..." A tear had finally left my hazel eyes. That wasn't a cry for him to stop. That was an acceptance of my death. That was the signal for him to kill me.

"Avada Kedavra," Snape said before pointing his wand at me. A mist of green filled my vision and everything...

Went cold.
