For the rest of their lunch break, Bambam and Yugyeom spend it with Lila and Richard. Bambam does end up being a fourth wheel, frowning and feeling a bit of jealousy when he sees Richard get a little too close to Yugyeom. Lila herself also got way too close to Bambam, but whenever he'd try to pull away, she'd just hold on tighter.
Finally, two minutes before lunch ends, the four separate ways. Bambam waves at the twin siblings with a fake smile, but seriously wants to punch Richard in the face, especially since he gave Yugyeom his number, before leaving.
"They're fun, aren't they?" Yugyeom says as he stares after his new friends with a smile.
"What was that?" Bambam demands, instead of replying to Yugyeom's question.
"What was that?" he asks, finally looking at Bambam.
"We agreed to go on a lunch date today, Yugyeom," he reminds. "I even set everything up. But then you show up with two new besties, and said no to go touring around the school?"
"Yeah," Yugyeom says with a small frown. "What's wrong with that?"
"You couldn't have done it later?"
"No," Yugyeom says. "They needed the help now, Bam. What if I didn't show them, and when they need the help, they don't know where to go?"
"There's this thing called a map," Bambam says. "There's a map of our college on the website. I'm sure they both have phones."
"Why are you acting so weird today?" Yugyeom asks.
"I'm acting weird?"
"Look, Bambam, I was just helping some friends," Yugyeom grumbles. "If you're going to get jealous over that, then that's stupid."
"I'm not jealous," Bambam says, crossing his arms. "I'm just annoyed you canceled our date to give some strangers you barely know a tour."
"This fight is useless, Kunpimook," Yugyeom says. He frowns at Bambam before he starts walking away from him. Bambam rolls his eyes, and is about to walk in the other direction when he remembers he has to be with Yugyeom 24/7. With a sigh, Bambam jogs to catch up with Yugyeom. "Did you just follow me to tell me more useless stuff?"
"No," Bambam says. "I can't leave you alone. If I could, I would've left already."
Yugyeom just nods, ignoring the pang in his gut at Bambam's words. The two don't say anything after that.
--
Later that day, Bambam and Yugyeom are both in their shared dorm. Bambam is in the kitchen, making himself a snack since he didn't eat anything for lunch. They finished going to all their classes, so it's around four p.m. by now. Bambam heard the water going off in the bathroom earlier, so he assumes Yugyeom decided to take a shower.
And he's right when Yugyeom walks inside the kitchen with his raven hair damp.
But he has makeup on and is fully clothed in sort of fancy clothing as if he's going to a fancy dinner party or something.
"Where are you going?" Bambam asks as he notices how Yugyeom looks.
"Somewhere," he mutters, opening the fridge.
"Yugyeom," Bambam says in a warning tone.
Yugyeom rolls his eyes. "If I tell you, you're going to get jealous."
"So you're going out with Richard and Lila?"
"Yeah," Yugyeom says as if it isn't obvious. "Not that I want you to, but you wanna come?"
"No thanks," Bambam mumbles. "Take one of the others with you. You can't be alone, Yugyeom."
"I'm going to be with Richard and Lila," he reminds. "I'm not going to be alone."
"I know, but I don't trust Richard nor Lila," Bambam says as he lowers the heat of the stove to turn to look at Yugyeom. "Take one of the others, or I won't let you go." Normally, if Yugyeom wasn't a little or his crazy ex-boyfriend wasn't on the loose looking for him, Bambam would let Yugyeom go out with his friends, whether he'd ask for permission or not. But Bambam doesn't trust Richard or Lila, especially Richard, and Yugyeom's crazy ex-boyfriend is on the loose, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
"Fine," Yugyeom grumbles. He takes out his phone and dials Jeongyeon's number. He then walks out of the kitchen, and walks toward his room, closing the door behind him.
Bambam just sighs, and continues cooking. It's as if he's raising a thirteen-year-old, who's too stubborn to understand how dangerous the world is outside. Bambam continues cooking, and it isn't long before his phone starts ringing. He grabs it from his back pocket and checks the caller ID: Mark.
"Hi, hyung," Bambam greets as he answers the call, placing his phone on the counter a few inches away from the stove.
"Hi, Bam," Mark greets. "Are you busy?"
"No," Bambam assures. "I'm just cooking. What's up?"
"I just watched to check up on you and Yugyeom," Mark says. "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah," Bambam replies. "Everything's fine."
"Oh, thank god," Mark says in relief. "Yugyeom wouldn't answer his phone, so I started panicking."
Bambam rolls his eyes. "He's being a brat right now, hyung. I don't think he'd answer the phone for anyone."
"Really?" Mark sounds surprised. "How is he being a brat?"
Bambam explains. He explains everything from the start—from where Yugyeom met Richard and Lila, their close 'friendship', what happened at lunch, Bambam's and Yugyeom's fight, and their attitude toward each other.
"It just seems like he doesn't understand anything," Bambam says. "He's too oblivious that Richard is hitting on him, or that they both give off bad vibes."
"Are you...jealous, Bambam?" Mark slowly asks.
Bambam sighs. "A bit. I just didn't like how close Richard was to Gyeom, especially since Gyeom let him. He even introduced me as his boyfriend when I met the twins."
"Well, have they done anything to Yugyeom?" Mark says.
"No," Bambam replies. "But I just want them to leave him alone. He's going out with them right now, and I'm making him take one of the others, so he won't be alone."
"Who's he taking?"
"Jeongyeon-noona."
"He'll be safe then," Mark mutters. "Just trust him on this, Bam. Yugyeom isn't the type to cheat. If Richard makes a move on him, I'm sure Yugyeom's going to reject him."
"Yeah, but what if Richard doesn't take it easy?" Bambam says pointedly. "Fuck, maybe I should go with him."
"Everything's going to be fine, Bam," Mark reassures. "You have a lot of studying and catching up to do, anyway. Besides Yugyeom's just a call away."
"Fine," Bambam says in defeat. "Hyung, do you think I was being too hard on him?"
"You were fine, Bam," Mark says. "Anyway, then, I have to leave now, Bam. I have to go back to work."
"Okay," he says. "Thanks for hearing me, hyung."
"Of course," Mark says. "Call me if anything happens."
"Will do," Bambam says. "Bye, hyung."
"Bye, Bam."
Their call ends, and Bambam just stands there, wondering if he should listen to Mark, and not go with Yugyeom, or go with the younger. Bambam finally decides the former, and with a sigh continues cooking.
