Chapter Two - Road To War

After meeting with the Colonel, Master Cyclonis had gathered her top lieutenants to discuss the coming war with the Colonel's criminal syndicate. 

Count Ulric: As we speak, the Colonel is making a move against the Cyclonian Syndicate. The threat posed by the Colonel is considerable. 

Snipe: What do we have to fear from some spider freak?!

Dark Ace: Do not underestimate the Colonel. He singlehandedly built a powerful criminal syndicate in South America. I've heard stories about him. 

Count Ulric: Dark Ace is right. The Colonel is a very dangerous man. If we are not careful, he could undo the Cyclonian Syndicate. That is something we cannot allow. The recent events that has transpired has left us very vulnerable. 

Ravess: You talking about those brats? We could've easily taken care of them. Not to mention we know where they are. 

Dark Ace: Don't be stupid. The League of Villains showed us that a direct assault on the Heroes would be suicidal. Even All For One proved unable to kill All Might. 

As Dark Ace made his point, Repton entered the room. The room fell silent as Repton approached Master Cyclonis. 

Repton: You wanted to see me, Master Cyclonis?

Master Cyclonis: Yes. Recent events have revealed a threat to my organization. Tell me, have you ever worked with the Colonel?

Repton: Once or twice. The Colonel doesn't hire mercenaries often. He doesn't trust them. 

Master Cyclonis: What can you tell me about him and his organization?

Repton: The Colonel is not someone to be trifled with. Like you, he has a cabal of loyal lieutenants who loyally serve him. They are fanatical in their devotion to him. 

Count Ulric: Who?

Repton: I've only ever seen two of them, but I know there's four or five of them. The Colonel's right hand man is known as Camazotz named after the Bat God of Aztec Folklore. His Quirk resembles that of a Vampire. The other one I've seen is a woman who calls herself La Mujer Pálida.

Master Cyclonis: The Pale Woman. What of her Quirk?

Repton: I do not know. But on the few jobs I've done for the Colonel, the people I've delivered to the Colonel, the Colonel sends them to La Mujer Pálida. They're never seen again. 

Master Cyclonis grew interested in both Camazotz and La Mujer Pálida. Based on Repton's testimony, the Colonel had a deadly cabal of lieutenants at his disposal. 

Repton: There's one more thing I think you should know. The Colonel rules his organization with an iron but firm fist. Those who work with him respect him as well as fear him. 

Master Cyclonis: I will keep that in mind. In the meantime, I have a job for you. 

Repton: And what job would that be?

Master Cyclonis: I want you and your men ready for war. The Colonel has declared war on the Cyclonian Syndicate. Recent events have left the Cyclonian Syndicate vulnerable to opportunistic enemies, especially the Colonel. Name your price and I will pay it. 

Repton: A job like this presents great risk to me and my men. The Raptors are among the best fighters in the world. For a job like this, we ask only for a substantial price. 

Master Cyclonis: Done. Now go. Prepare your men for a glorious battle. When the times comes, I will call upon you to fight. 

Master Cyclonis then nods her head to Count Ulric, who presents Repton a suitcase full of money. Upon inspecting the contents, Repton was satisfied. 

Master Cyclonis: That is half your payment. You will get the other half upon completion of the job. 

Repton: Thank you, Master Cyclonis. You are far too kind. I will wait for your orders. 

Repton then bows his head in respect and leaves the room. After Repton left the room, Dark Ace speaks up. 

Dark Ace: What shall we do about the Colonel? He may be making his move as we speak. 

Master Cyclonis: For now, we must prepare ourselves for the coming war. Doctor Skaal is in the final stages of his work on the Proteus prototype. If what Skaal is promising is true, then Proteus should be of great aid to us. But as I said before, we must prepare for war. 

With that, Master Cyclonis as well as her chief lieutenants prepare the Cyclonian Syndicate for war against the Colonel. Meanwhile in a lab, Doctor Skaal tirelessly works on the Proteus prototype with Swordkil acting as an assistant and guard. What he's built was a large android which bore the appearance of a large metallic man with a head shaped like a Corinthian helmet. Swordkil took an interest in it. 

Swordkil: So that's the thing you and Shield made?

Doctor Skaal: Yes. It is most unfortunate that Professor Shield failed to see the bigger picture. At least I was able to recover it before he could destroy it. What you are witnessing is the pinnacle of scientific achievement. And soon enough, the whole world will see it. 

Skaal took great pride in Proteus. In his mind, Proteus was his greatest achievement. With each day he worked on it, he was getting closer to completing it. But as he worked on Proteus, war was coming. The Colonel and his organization began making their move against the Cyclonian Syndicate. This war would end with one syndicate rising to become more powerful than ever while the other would fall and fade away into obscurity. Master Cyclonis was determined to not lose this war no matter the cost.
