Maddie's POV

"Three...two...one" I whisper to myself waiting for the end bell to ring. The end of school is like me being released to freedom and I get to go to dance, the one place I can see my best friend, Kendall Vertes
When I see my mum car in the parking lot, I naturally try to walk as fast as I can, looking like a total weirdo to my mums car. Mackenzie was in the front so I was forced to sit in the back of the car, which I don't mind because I can lay my head against the window and just think of nothing.
"Where not going to have time to get changed at home so I brought your dance clothes in a bag and we'll get changed at ALDC" says mum
"I'm so excited for nationals!" Squeals Mackenzie
"Same" I say downfully
"What's going on with you Maddie? You've been very down lately" asks mum
"I'm fine really" I lie
"Ok, but I'm not convinced" says Mum
Twenty minutes later I arrive at ALDC, when I see Kendall at the parking lot I imediently bolt towards her and hug her. I just really wanted to see my best friend right now
"How was your day?" Kendall asks as we walked into ALDC
"Good, how about you?" I ask
"Great, a got a boyfriend" says Kendall excitedly
Oh no, now I know exactly how the story is going to go. Kendall is going to spend all of her spare time with her boyfriend so she won't pay any attention to me. We'll stop talking to the point where the only time we see each other is at dance and even there it's just a awkward hello then walk off. But off course for the sake of being a best friend, I need to act supportive
"Great, who's the lucky guy?" I ask
"His names Aiden Hill" says Kendall
"This Aiden Hill guy must be very lucky to call you his girlfriend" I say
When we walk into the studio Abby is there with the other dancers JoJo, Nia and Kalani.
First off we did pyramid, the pyramid looked like this,

"It's nationals time. I do not want to see a single fault in any of your turns, leaps or dances. I want to beat Candy Apples, I want to beat Jeanette and Ava and most importantly I want to win first place in all of my routines" shouts Abby
"Our group routine is Demons by Imagine Dragons and it will feature all of you" says Abby
"I have four solos for this nationals the first solo goes to Kalani your solo is When Your Gone by Avril Lavige , the second solo goes to Kendall your solo is Never Been Hurt by Demi Lovato, the third solo goes to Mackenzie your solo is Feel Again by One Republic and my final solo is of course going to Maddie your solo is Double Rainbow by Katy Perry." Says Maddie
"What about me?" Asks JoJo
"Hmm, let's see last week you came 6th overall, the week before you came 9th overall and the week before that you came 11th overall, you tell me why would I pick you for a solo for nationals!?" Asks Abby
"I'm hoping to top Maddie, and if I want to do that I need all the solos because I am clearly better than her" says JoJo
I was in utter shock as to what JoJo said, according to Abby I'm her number one and I'm the one in anybody eyes.
"EXCUSE ME, HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT IN MY STUDIO!" Shouts Abby
"She's just saying the truth" says Jessalyn, JoJo's mum
"What JoJo needs is a zip for her mouth so she can shut it and think to herself for a minute" says Abby
"But I am the best I could beat her in a heartbeat" says JoJo
"THE BEST IS MADDIE, I WOULD HAVE TO FIND SOMEBODY INCREDIBLY STUNNING TO TOP MADDIE, JOJO I JAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR ATTITUDE I'M KICKING YOU OUT OF ALDC!" Shouts Abby
"Honestly about time Abby kicked of JoJo" Kendall whispers to me
"Now that the brat is gone mums head upstairs and let's get to work girls" says Abby
