04. Walking In The Dark.

Alix's POV.

After Charleigh had dropped me off, I continued the grueling task of walking to my dorm building.

It was about a 10-15 minute walk to my dorm building.
I lived towards the end of the campus, so that doesn't help much with walk eather.

I made my way onto the maine walkway that most of the students use.

My shoes echoed off of the concrete.
This part of the campus was actually kind of creepy.

The old trees lined the walkways that spread in every direction.

The moonlight Shone down through the old trees, and almost sparkled off of the concrete.

Finally I made my way onto the other Walkway I used to get to my dorm.
The lights above my inside the other buildings lit up and I could make out silhouettes moving through some of the windows.

I moved off of this walkway, and down a small worn dirt trail behind a dorm building.

I used this route quite often and it was also the quickest way to where I lived.

As I moved away from the comforting glow of the street lights and lights from the other dorms, I got the feeling that someone was watching me.

Calm down Alix, it's just your mind playing tricks on you...

I continued my walk when I heard what sounded like footsteps.

Ok, really I'm just paranoid.

I speed up my walk and finally got to my Walkway that lead straight to my dorm.

But I couldn't shake that feeling.

Weird.

I quickly bounced up the stairs to the front door.

As soon as I heard the door shut behind me, I heard something run passed the door.

When I turned around, the glass in the door was shaking slightly.

What the hell?

I walked over to the door and put my hands on the door and I stopped moving.

I decided that I just needed to get to my room.

So after a little bit of looking out the door, I Quickly retreated to the safety of my room.

Bayne's POV.

I watched as Alix came from Charleigh's car.

And I followed him all the way back to the dorm he lived in.

Humans were so clueless of all of the dangerous beings that lived around them.

After a few minutes of watching for what he didn't know was me, Alix went up to his room.

A little while later, another human Emerged from the building.

He was a smaller guy, and he was carrying art supplies.

Oh well.... He'll have to do.

I stayed undetectable in the think trees that lined the campus grounds.
It also helped that I had inhuman speed and sight and hearing...

The boy opened a door to some class building and stepped inside.

I caught the door before it shut.

The boy was a good ways ahead of me when the big metel doors of a room came flying open and and three teenage girls came out.

They startled the boy. Who as they passed him, noticed that his shoe was untied.

He bent over, puting his art supplies down onto the floor for the moment.

Time to eat...

I smelled the boy now. All of him.

I crept along the lockers and stuck to the Shadows.

Then I caught  my speed up and went for him.

My roller skates gave me an extra boost of power against the humans.

The boy looked up just in time to see my figure Loom forward towards him.

He fell backwards just as I grabbed him by the arms.

He let out a scream, but I quickly silenced him by injecting my fangs into his jugular.

After I finished. I cleaned up the little mess I had made and quickly grabbed my food to- go and to go and meet up with the rest of my 'family'.

Laylah's POV.

Ugh... I could smell so many humans!
My throat burned with hunger.
Imagine, a vampire surrounded by humans and not allowed to eat them!

But then I remind myself, I'm here on a job.

I quickly faze into my wolf form and run into the bushes below Alix's building.

I climb up the building and found his window on the top floor.

I peaked inside just as he came over.
I was right here and he didn't see me.

Humans... So clueless.

He then shut the window on my hands... Even though it didn't hurt it did however make me lose my balance.

Then I feel three storys into the bushes .

"Oww, ah man.... Shit." I mumbled as I moved out of the bushes.

I was in my human form now.

"Your supposed to bite him on the neak." Brayleigh said. She was smoking a cigarette, and leaned back against the wall of the building.

"Yeah, yeah." I mumbled.

Just then the boss came flying over us in his usual bat form.

He flew towards the limo and then behind it and came out "human" .

Then a moment later Bayne came out, holding in his arms the usual choice of food.

The boss and Bayne then pilled into the limo and that was Brayleigh and my cue to Join them.

This was going to be some night.

I really tried to get this chapter longer but I've just had some family issues going on and decided to just end this chapter and continue on with the story in another one.
