After being in London and working at Henrik's for a few weeks, I began to assess the Auton situation in the basement. I had no real time reference for when the Doctor would arrive, just sometime in the next year.

Almost a year later, today starts like any other. I go to work, suffer through retail, cover for Rose's lunch, and fake my exit. I take my leave from the building and make my way back, ready to check the basement. The only difference today, is that I can hear Rose calling out for Willson the CO.

I decide to wait in the lift with the doors open, hoping to provide a quicker escape. Finally, I see Rose and the Doctor running, the Autons close behind them.

" Oi!" I rush them. " Come on, let's go! Rose, now!"

They reach the lift and as the doors are closing an Auton manages to fit its arm between them. Several tugs leave the Auton down one arm and the Doctor with an extra.

"You pull his arm off!" Rose exclaims.

"Yep." The Doctor grins. " Plastic." He says, tossing her the arm.

" Very clever. Nice trick! Who were they then, students?" Rose turns to me."Amser is this your doing?" She turns back. " Is this a student thing or what?"

" Why would it be students?" " Why would it be me?" The ninth Doctor and I ask simultaneously.

"I don't know."

" Well you said it. Why students? Why her?"

" 'Cause ... to get that many people dressed up and being silly, they got to be students. And Amser's meant to have left by now, yet she seems to know what's happening."

" That makes sense. Well done."

"Thanks."

" They're not students." The Doctor dead pans.

" And, it's certainly not me."

" Whoever they are, when Wilson finds them, he's gonna call the police."

" Who's Wilson?"

" Chief Electrician."

" Wilson's dead." The Doctor and I say in unison.

The three of us leave the lift and the Doctor prepares to disable it.

" That's not funny!" Rose yells at us. " That's sick."

" Hold on. Mind your eyes." The Doctor warns before sonicing the lift controls.

" I've had enough of this now." Rose pauses, whimpering as the panel sparks. " Who are you then? Who's that lot down there? I said, who are they?"

" Autons." I tell her simply, catching the look I get from the Doctor.

" They're made of plastic. Living plastic creatures. And they're being controlled by a relay device on the roof." The Doctor elaborates. " Which would be a great big problem, if I didn't have this." He continues, pulling a small bomb from his jacket and waving with it. " So, I'm gonna go upstairs and blow it up. And I might well die in the process, but don't worry about me. No, you go home. Go on. Go and have your lovely beans on toast. Don't tell anyone about this, 'cause if you do, you'll get them killed." He shuts the door behind him, leaving Rose and I in the alley, before he peaks out. " I'm the Doctor by the way. What're your names?"
