(This is a human au, but there is some magic also, and of course spirits)
There have been stories about the spirits of the forest, but everyone told them thought they were fake. Until teenagers and kids started to go missing whenever they went into the forest and had been disrespectful to the tings in it, or just having gotten lost.
They would dissappear without a trace the only thing left was whatever was dropped on the ground. The teens or kids would sometimes be found perfectly fine, and they would have tales of fog trapping them in there. But this fog hasn't ever been seen by anyone that hadn't gotten stuck in the forest.
Time runs slow in the forest, a few minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months in the forest but outside the forest it actually was hours, days, weeks, months, or years
