Mirror sites are nothing new. They've tried to mooch off Wattpad for long. Most of the time they are taken down.
We're told to assert our copyright & post messages like the following to protect our work.
For your safety and for your readers, you may want to include this message in the summary of your story on Wattpad (this also applies if you write on another site) -
"If you are reading this story on any other platform other than Wattpad you are very likely to be at risk of a malware attack. If you wish to read this story in it's original, safe, form, please go to (insert profile link). Thank you."
Seems good enough! Right?
WRONG! Here's why...
The site is registered in the US of A!
All those rumors of its being based in Indonesia, China, or Vietnam are FALSE! Ergo, Wattpad can act and use the laws to take it down. Right? I believe so!
If I'm wrong, please do let me know.
BUT ALL THE INFORMATION about the site is is patently a "cover".
It was created in September, 2020.
The "delete prohibited" in the first image is very worrisome.

What interests me is:
How did the presence of mirror site go unnoticed by Wattpad?
What is their policy about such breaches?
Do they even consider this a breach?
Can they even prevent this from happening?
Has this happened before?
How was it handled?
If you any of the answers, please do comment.
As I am tried of generic replies by bots, I prefer hearing from you,
as readers and writers, users of the site!
I love Wattpad but, boy, this is scary!
