In which Louis and Harry have been engaged for a year and are due to get married.

'Harry, we have been together for the most wonderful eight years of our lives. You're handsome, you're beautiful, you're smart and the love I have for you is stronger than I ever thought possible. Yeah, we've had our moments when we haven't been as perfect as we are now but I can't imagine living and getting older without you. Thank you for being in my life, Harry. From the bottom of my heart.'

Louis had been planning his speech to Harry over and over in the bathroom mirror for ages. Tonight was a special night and he couldn't fuck it up, because he had plans to finally ask Harry to marry him.

If you had told Louis ten years ago that he was going to propose to a beautiful boy with milky skin, luscious curls and gorgeous, green eyes, he would've laughed in your face.

Now, he was anxiously preparing for Harry to get home from the studio, cursing himself for not being a better cook. It wasn't like he would be likely to poison them both, but he didn't want to risk anything. He sighed, grabbing the lasagne that he had brought from M&S earlier that day. He heard his phone beep, probably from Harry telling him not to burn the house down.

Hi bub, just on my way home. It's been a loooooong day, looking forward to dinner and cuddles. H x

Louis cooed at his phone, wondering how he managed to get so freaking lucky. The best thing about Harry was that he was attentive, always knowing what to say whenever someone was in a bad mood or feeling sad.

Turning off his phone screen, Louis stood up. He had decorated his and Harry's place with a new string of rainbow fairy lights that Harry had gotten him as an early Christmas present. He hadn't used them yet but was sure that if Harry had picked them out, they would be perfect.

He went to the cupboard that they keep the batteries in, opening the small plastic case and putting two batteries in. He then flicked the small plastic switch, turning them on.

The lights flickered on and off, red and yellow and blue and green flicking on and off. They reminded Louis of the walks that he used to take with his mother around his hometown. A small laugh came to his face when he remembered how he always thought that people lit up their houses for his as of his birthday. It was a silly thought really, but the memory always brought Louis and a smiling face and a teary eye.

He sat down on the sofa, anxiously tapping his foot and looking around. He was on high alert, ready for his boyfriend to come home.

Harry was late and Louis began to worry. Even if his baby was even a little behind the time he had told Louis he would be home it was hard for him. Harry was the single most important person to Louis and worrying was the way that he showed he cared about his loved ones.

Luckily, Harry walked through the door three minutes later, being wrapped into a long hug from his boyfriend.

'Hi, love. What's this for?' Harry said when Louis engulfed him.

'You were home late and I got worried like I always do.'

Harry had to bite his cheek to stop himself cooing at Louis. He was so freaking precious, the way that he worried made Harry's heart swoop.

'I'm here now, I'm all yours, darling.'

'All mine.'

Louis got onto his tiptoes, planting a kiss onto the tip of Harry's slightly pointed nose. Both boys laughed, their foreheads pressed together.
