When I had finally woken, it felt like hours and hours had passed, possibly even days. Things were blurry and my throat felt scratchy, the way it would if you had stopped speaking for a few hours.

Coarsely, I rose my voice and shouted out asking for a nurse, but nobody came. I tried to get up out of my bed but my brain was setting the time back a few seconds, making everything around me, including my own body move slowly.

"Nurse!" I shouted once more, my voice rippling throughout the room. A small cough was heard and I jumped, my eyes shooting open completely as I searched around the room.

Turning my body aside, next to me was a girl I had recognized and was quite happy to see. Louise.

A smile crossed her face when she'd seen me smiling at her. "How did you sleep?" She asked calmly, the creases in her forehead seizing as dimples set deep in her cheeks. She seemed almost like someone I knew, but then again, I did know her.

She just looked like Louise, right?

"I guess I slept alright, how long was I sleeping though?" Clearing my throat, I asked her quietly. My voice still felt so cracked and dry, I needed a drink. She slowly rose, bringing me a small paper cup filled with clear liquid which I gratefully took and sipped on.

Turning around, she took a seat back on the guest chair in the far corner of my room. "A few hours, the nurse said."

Once I was finished drinking the contents of the cup, I cleared my throat and spoke. "Feels like forever." To that she giggled slightly, nodding her head. Her face was so youthful and soft looking, her teeth perfectly aligned, shone brightly under the artificial lighting.

Just as I was about to open my mouth to ask her a few more questions about my stay here in the hospital wing, she stood up rapidly and walked over to the side of my bed. I was slightly confused at what was so urgent and attempted to look at what she was doing, but couldn't see that far behind.

"What?" I chuckled slightly concerned and scared.

I could hear her muttering under her breath, rushed. Her voice sounded distressed and anxious, and I was dying to know what was happening. The sound of a paper being crumpled angrily filled the room and I sucked in an angry breath.

"What're you doing?" Questioning her.

"This note." she huffed.

I sighed and used my body weight to slightly lift out of bed into a sitting position, my muscles a little stronger now that I'd been awake for a little bit. "So now you take it upon yourself to rip my letters before I get a chance to see?"

"No," she sighed, opening back up the unknown letter and handing it to me. The sheet was yellowed and the corners were curled slightly, it was rough to the touch and felt thick, like it had been through water damage and dried up only to be drenched again several hours later.

The writing on the page was fresher than the state of the sheet though, and it was thick and black written in pencil. The writing had been drawn over a couple times, lines not completely aligned with each other.

I'm sorry I couldn't stick around, it's my fault. -H

Harry...

My cheeks became warm and my hand immediately rose to cover it. The heat spread rapidly throughout my body though, unstoppable like gasoline on hot flames and for some reason, my smile grew wider.

Deep inside my stomach, butterflies came high up into my throat and I had to swallow them down before they erupted into loud giggles.

"That's not right, Liz."

My lips slowly came back, smile fading as my tongue came out to lick my bottom lip. "First of all, since when do you call me Liz?"

"I don't know," she scoffed. "Since just now."

"Alright, alright." I didn't want to mention the next thing because I knew I'd get hounded by her even though she was my only 'friend'.

A fake smile spread across my cheeks and I rose my eyebrows, trying to act innocent. "It's nothing..."

Yes, it's definitely something, well on my part at least. He was a professor, he probably didn't care about me at all, but all that I could see each time I blinked were his beautiful deep eyes and the plush skin of his lips.

"It's something, and its bad..." she sighed, grabbing the piece of paper from my hand and ripping it up into minuscule pieces before shoving them into the pocket of her brown leather jacket. "Don't get yourself involved in that kind of stuff, it's wrong and-"

"Oh my god," I breathed annoyed. "There's nothing Louise, I promise."

"Then what is this note?"

"I barely know him.."

"Explain to me, Elizabeth... Why is this his fault?"

Rubbing my forehead, I bit onto my lower lip in frustration at her sudden need to be apart of everything I do. Sure, her help on the first day was much appreciated but if this is what being her friend consisted of, I didn't need it.

I didn't need lectures, nor did I need her telling me what to do... I knew that whatever it was I felt towards him was slightly off compared to my sentiments with all my other professors, but I barely knew him and what he was made of.

Maybe he was an awful guy, that was technically his job... To put order and discipline us pupils when necessary, and despite his authoritative personality and slight aggression, I was attracted to him.

"I don't know, but I'm tired I should probably rest."

"No, say it... Why is this his fault."

I huffed. "Because Louise... last night I was in the library and he caught me..."

Her mouth was agape and her eyes seemed so sick, so harsh and mad. Her skin was turning a bright red shade and she looked as if she might just explode.

Why she was so mad, I was uncertain.

Before she spoke another word, she stormed towards the door. "I'm telling head master."

"You can't Louise..."

"Oh yes I can." she said, stopping right before the door she took in a deep breath and pushed past the closed barricade, slamming it shut behind her.
