3 days

After what happened yesterday, it was weird between us. Five, Delores, and I went to find information on the apocalypse. At The Commission. I didn't want to go back there but Five said "We should take a vote." And of course, it was two against one.

His siblings did other things to help. I'm not sure what. I wanted to go with one of them but Five made me go with him. He drove us to the place I swore that I would never go back to.

"Are you ready," he asked me as I bandaged my arm up from the glass shards yesterday. "Yeah, guess," I looked at Delores, who was in between us, "Are you bringing her?" He shook his head, "No. I don't want her getting hurt." "But it's okay if I get hurt?" "Never said that." "But you're bringing me. I'm going to get hurt." We argued back and forth until Five grabbed my arm, "I don't have time for this!" He blinked us into the building.

We were in the back office. The same office that everything happened in. He almost died in here. We did it in here. "Be quiet," he told me in a hushed voice, "We don't need anyone to know that we're here." "I would yell just to piss you off but I don't wanna get shot." He rolled his eyes at me and quietly made his way to the door and opened it.

Other agents were walking through the halls. I wondered how many knew what we had done. We not only broke many rules but I stabbed The Handler. We snuck around, avoiding everyone. We made our way to the Infinite Switchboard.

We were never allowed in here. "You keep watch, I'll figure out everything," Five instructed me. "Why can't you keep watch?" "Because unlike you, I'm not an idiot. Watch the door!" "You're a bigger idiot than you think," I mumbled. He messed with some buttons on the machine.

I walked behind Five, leaning over him to see the screens. "Why aren't you at the door," he asked. "Nothing is happening. We're fine." Suddenly, the door flew open.

Cha Cha and Hazel were standing in the doorway, pointing guns at us. Five grabbed a message container. "You two really have nothing better to do, huh?" Five grabbed my hand and ran past them. They shot at us, barely missing everytime.

We were backed into a corner. "Give us the tube and we won't hurt her," Cha Cha yelled. "Hurt who? You have no one," Five yelled. "Really," Hazel said and grabbed me by my wrist. He wrapped his arm around my neck. A gun was held to my stomach. I couldn't fight back but I tried to. "And we have this," Cha Cha pulled Delores out, "Since you won't give us the tube, one of them will be punished due to your actions."

A look of panic was in Five's eyes. "Five," I choked out, "Please." He looked at me with sorrow. "I'm sorry, (Y/N)." He blinked over to Delores and Cha Cha. "He chose the plastic over the girl," she told Hazel, "You know what to do." "No! Hazel, we worked together since I was a kid! Please!"

With slight hesitation, he pulled the trigger, sending a bullet through my hip. I screamed as Hazel dropped me. Five held Delores close as the two left. He came closer to me. "Shit. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for-" "You chose her. You meant it." My blood puddled. He grabbed my hand and blinked us to the Academy.

As his mother helped my wound, he spoke to me. "Listen, (Y/N), I do care about you. Delores was my first love. Thirty years." "If I'm dying, I don't want to hear about your past love." "The point is, I do love you. Everything in the last few days made me realize that. I shouldn't have to tell you that every second for you to know." "Well, when you let me get shot over a piece of plastic, it doesn't seem like you love me much. Yeah, we kissed and did more. But you love her more than anything." "Sorry," he simply replied. He leaned over and kissed me, "I love you, (Y/N)." He left as Grace finished fixing me.
