She was used to things going wrong

She was used to things going wrong. In fact, she began to expect things to go wrong a few months into High School.

Whether it be discovering your boyfriend's true colors, or trying drugs for the first time. Other times it was injuries that sideline you from cheerleading competitions, or your parents grounding you.

Whatever it was, Olivia was always expecting something to go wrong. Or at least, she always expected it until she met Paul.

Meeting Paul distracted her from the bad, and even though they had a rocky start to their relationship, he made it all worth it. Olivia began thinking that maybe the bad was over, and this was the rainbow after the rain.

Well, as it turns out, this was only the sunshine that comes out mid-rain. She still had to wait for the rainbow. And it was all Bella Swan's fault.

Now, Olivia had nothing against Bella. She barely knew Bella. But she knew that if Bella had not dragged the wolves into protecting her house in the first place, they would not have been dragged into the battle.

What was the point of Bella calling the wolves to protect her house against vampires only to turn around and protest against the wolves fighting vampires (literally what they were meant to do) because it was too dangerous for them? She was a hypocrite.

They had been having a pack game night when Jacob had arrived at 7 and forced (begged) Quil and Embry to go with him to Forks. Apparently, Forks High School had its graduation and since Bella and Edward were seniors, Alice Cullen had thrown a graduation party. Jacob was invited by Bella, and he wanted to apologize for kissing her.

Quil and Embry didn't want to go, preferring getting beat in Monopoly by Jared and Olivia (they were both really good and no one got why. It started many arguments) than going to a party with the pale faces and being oogled by everyone.

Yet, they agreed after Jacob promised to buy them food for a week. They were gone less than an hour before returning, all looking solemn. Jacob had told Sam that they needed to have an emergency pack meeting.

The imprints were all cast out of the room, but the boys ended up telling them everything anyways. Apparently, there was an army of newborn vampires coming to the area to kill Bella and the Cullen's were hoping that the wolves would help them fight.

Sam agreed, thinking of the tribe, and most importantly, the imprints. That army would be hungry and he refused to let innocents get hurt because of Bella Swan. He was more likely to hand over Bella than risk the tribe.

So, that led them to going to train with the Cullen's, the imprints left alone in Emily's house.

Emily was cooking nervously, making large amounts of various dishes. Meanwhile, Kim was painting and repainting her nails, testing different colors. Olivia was doing homework, or at least attempting to do homework. It was difficult, knowing that her boyfriend was training to fight a battle against vampires.

She felt all too relieved when she heard the boys' signature whoop outside, Embry and Quil running inside with Leah and Seth. They all went straight to Emily, Seth chattering excitedly about what Jasper Cullen taught them.

Paul, Sam, and Jared were the last ones to enter, Paul looking particularly irritated. Jared said something to Paul before walking to Kim, wrapping his arms around her and resting his head on her shoulder.

"You should talk to Paul." He advised, motioning to the boy.

"Why?"

"He's upset. You calm him down."

"And what is he mad about?"

Jared sighed. "The mind reader leech, he saw you in Paul's thoughts during training. He saw the attack that vampire did on you and wants to meet you. According to the doctor, vampires shouldn't go after you, because of your scent, or Paul's around you."

"What was he even searching Paul's mind for?" Olivia asked, appalled by the idea of someone she didn't know reading her thoughts.

Jared shrugged. "Who knows? He's weird."

She looked back at Paul, watching as Sam patted his back and left him alone. Paul caught her eye, motioning for her to go to him. With that, he turned, leaving the house.

Olivia stood. "I'll see you two later."

She followed Paul outside, immediately being embraced into a warm chest as soon as she was on the porch. Paul took in the scent of Olivia's cinnamon apple shampoo, breathing out deeply.

"Jared told you, huh?"

"Yeah."

"Livs, you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with. I will not force you to meet them, and I don't want you too, frankly."

"I know, I know. I don't think I want to go to a house full of vampires."

Paul raised an eyebrow. "But?"

"But, I do want to know why the vampire attacked me despite your scent being all over me." Olivia admitted, looking down.

Paul sighed. "This is up to you, Livs. You say the word and I'll follow."

"Will you gone with me? If I agree to meet them?"

Paul snorted. "Angel, come on. As if I would actually let you go into a house full of bloodsuckers by yourself."

"Really? Even though they all stink?"

"Yes." Paul pecked her lips. "You're worth it, you'll always be worth it."

Olivia threw her arms around his neck, pulling Paul down to kiss her. "Thank you. I guess we have to go tell Sam then, huh?"

He hummed, not pulling away. "Sam can wait." He pushed her onto the railing of the patio, Olivia sitting on the railing with a smile.

"He can wait?"

"Yeah." He licked his lips, leaning closer.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Olivia agreed, right before closing the gap between them.
