River woke up with a pounding headache. "Florence?" she called out but nobody answered. River suddenly remembered what had happened and her heart started beating and her mind felt like it was about to burst, How long had she slept? What had the humans put in her? Where was Florence? Which way did they go? River realized she knew the answer to her last question. It was right River ran full speed along the path, maybe she only passed out for a couple of minutes, maybe she could catch up to them. Hope filled her and she ran even faster along the age beaten road. Faster and further River went until she got to a different section of the road. She had two choices, right or left; she cocked her head and she could hear a whirring sound coming from the left. Maybe it was the beast. River ran to the left. River stopped in her tracks, there were millions of those beasts all running in the same direction. River's ears hurt, she whimpered but then shook herself. She had to be strong for Florence. So River followed the Beasts trying her best to keep up with them. She realized that all of the beasts were all different shapes and colors just like cats. She continued to run, her only thought was forward. She skidded to a stop, in front of her was a green sign, it read: zoo. What's a zoo? River wondered. Maybe the humans are keeping Florence in there River thought. She ran under the sign, in front of her lay rows and rows of small fenced-in areas. River continued forward until she saw a sign that read: Jaguars. River found a large hole in the fence, she wiggled through it. She stood up on the other side. "Florence?!" She called, "Florence?!". "RIVER!!!!" Florence ran into River "I-I thought I'd never see you again..." Florence sobbed. "I'm here now" River soothed. "Let's get out of here" River meowed "okay" Florence replied. They both squeezed through the hole in the fence and ran out of the zoo. Florence was terrified, she ran as fast as she could, tearing up the ground and trying to keep up with River. Humans shouted after them and they hightailed it out of there. They ran past ratty signs and vandalised cages the whole place felt like fear. At last they got out of the horrifying place and ran back into the jungle.
"WHAT WAS THAT?" River cried once they were sure they were safe, the two had settled down by a stream and pushed a few soft leaves into a pile to make a makeshift bed. "No idea but i never want to go there again." Florence pressed her paw over her snout. "I'm sorry.." River said. "It's okay, it's okay..." Florence mumbled and settled into bed shakily. "Florence your paw!" River mewed, "it's bleeding!" Florence pressed her brows together "huh? that's weird, i didn't feel anything.." Florence padded off to the stream and cleaned it as well as wrapping it in some leaves with a vine to hold it together Florence rubbed her eyes "Ugh..I just want to sleep" she mumbled before plopping into bed. River looked at the sky worriedly, she felt in her gut that this was not going to be their only miss-adventure.
