River, Dawn, and Florence sat at the table while Chervil brought over the supper. Today was mouse stuffed with berries. Florence licked her lips, "is this new?" She asked. "Yeah," Chervil "I thought we'd try something new for a change". "It was really good," River commented "you're an excellent cook". "Thank you" Chervil replied. Chervil had been cooking supper for her, Florence, River and Dawn since Florence decided to move back in. And everyone in the tribe knew that the wisecat's cooking was terrible. "Yummy!" Dawn cheered. "What do you guys wanna do today?" Florence asked. "I was thinking of taking you guys over to the watering hole for a swim" Chervil answered. "Ooh, that sounds fun!" Dawn barked with excitement. They ran over to the watering hole. When they reached the water, they all jumped in. River and Florence splashed each other, they both laughed. Dawn was swimming in little circles, and Chervil was just swimming around. Florence nuzzled her mother, Chervil smiled back at her. "We have to do something," Chervil said, "about everyone in the village hating tigers and dingos''. Florence looked at River, then at her mother. She shuffled her paws, "..well it's kinda the same in River's tribe...they hate...Jaguars'' Florence told her. Chervil scrunched up her face "How did all this hate start in the first place anyway..?" River shook her head "I have no idea." she answered. Dawn shook her fur and jumped onto a rock to dry off. Dawn suddenly closed her eyes and spoke "Back when my parents were still alive they used to tell me a story.." Everyone turned over and listened. "Long ago, Tigers, Jaguars, dingoes, and every other predator lived with one another with no problem. Until one day a horrible crime broke out. The jaguar tribe was suspected of stealing from the tigers, and even kidnapping one of their cubs. Ever since then jaguars and tigers have hated each other their hatred grew stronger and stronger over the years with more suspicions from both tribes. The jaguars and tigers' hatred grew so deep that they wouldn't speak with any other tribes other than their own. " Chervil nodded, "As a cub I never really thought of it, it was just something I grew up with. But now I know that tigers aren't horrible, we just need to teach our tribe that." River looked at her claws. "It'll be hard that's for sure. It's certainly not something you can erase in one sitting. We're talking about hundreds of years of hatred. Not just some petty fight." "Yes," Chervil agreed, "but we have to try". River sighed and untangled Dawn's fur with her claws. and Florence cleaned Dawn off. Dawn yawned and curled up into a ball to sleep. "Poor cub. All I want for her is just one day without danger." River mumbled and curled up beside her. "Yeah" Florence agreed before curling up beside River and they all fell asleep.
