"Are you guys sure," you ask. You didn't know if you were cut out to help coach. Especially not this team.

"They listen to you more than me," coach Ukai says.

"Only if you think I can," you say, still unsure of how this was going to turn out.

"We do," Suga says confidently, "but we don't want to pressure you into doing it, that's why we haven't told anyone else yet."

"So will you?" Coach Ukai asks, "I want a yes or a no. We are very sure you can handle it. Now you have to choose to believe in yourself or not."

You've spent so long not being able to believe in yourself. Everyone around you always put you down. You look over to where the team is practicing. This team, these people were different than what you were used to. They weren't going to put you down, if anything, they'd be able to pick you up.

You take a deep breath, "Yes."

"Daichi!" Suga calls across the gym, "she said yes!"

"Yeah!" Daichi throws his fist into the air, interrupting the entire practice. Kiyoko laughs and so do you. This year was going to be the best.

"Alright," Ukai turns to the rest of the team, "you're probably all wondering what has those two so excited."

The team nods, listening intently.

"Ln is quitting her position as manager," Ukai says.

"What, no! Why YN," Hinata cries. The entire team looks shocked at what their coach just said.

"Hinata, let me finish," Ukai scolds, "she is quitting her position as manager to take up a position as assistant coach."

"Really! Yay!" Hinata says relieved that you aren't leaving the team.

"You idiot," Tsukishima taunts, "why would the third years be excited that she's leaving. Use your head a little would you."

"Tsuki, that's not nice!" Yamaguchi scolds him.

"It's true," Tsuki retorts.

You burst out laughing. You were so used to being on a girls team that faked nice constantly. You remembered their fake smiles and the words they used that made them seem too perfect. Half the boys turn to look at you.

"What's so funny?" Tsuki questions.

"I'm just so used to seeing teams get along," you say, "even if it's obviously fake."

"That's dumb," Tsuki replies, "I wouldn't even pretend to get along with these idiots."

"Tsuki!" Yamaguchi scolds.

"Alright, on that note, practice is over," Coach Ukai says before leaving. The boys start to pick up the volleyballs and take down the net. You go over to Kiyoko so she can enter numbers into your phone.

She finishes and hands you the phone.

"I also added you to our team group chat and the one for third years only," she says.

"Thanks!" You reply.

"They do send completely random things that are irrelevant to volleyball," she warns you.

"Are they memes?" You ask. Knowing them it would be some random memes or I can't sleep texts at 3am.

"Mostly," she responds, "sometimes Daichi will say things that pertain to practice or Sugawara will lecture them about something, like their grades."

"Can't wait," you laugh. The chat was going to be interesting, that's for sure. Putting all these boys together.

"Don't give coach Ukai's number to the boys," she warns, "they'll spam him until he lets them have extra practice time, food, or whatever else they can get from him."
