Miranda decided she wanted to work as long as possible, and she'd rather have maternity leave take effect after she gave birth; she just dropped Tuck off at daycare and spent some time with him before she walked to the attending's lounge.

How are you feeling?" Derek asked walking into the attending's lounge.

"I'm fine," she said, "for someone who's a million weeks pregnant."

"Huh...a million weeks," he sat next to her, and handed her an orange.

"Just about," she said

"What do you want Shepherd."

"I want in on your surgery."

"Negative."

"Mirandaaa."

A slightly audible groan escaped her lips and she rubbed her belly in discomfort. Derek glared suspiciously at her back, but decided to ignore it as regular pregnancy discomfort.

"No see what you want is to hover over me while I do my last surgery before the baby comes. I told my husband no , I told the chief no and now they sent you with your overly moussed hair. I can handle this I'm only pregnant and I did it before."

"I am coming in anyway and you can't stop me. Why don't you teach me something." Derek said smiling at her.

"You the fancy neuro attending wants to learn some general surgery techniques? Miranda said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes as a matter a fact I do."

"Okay, meet me in OR 3 in 30 minutes."

"Miranda scrubbed in while talking to her son

"Settle down now, Mommy has work to do." She spoke sternly as she felt a pain when he moved.

Miranda was sweating profusely and was getting Braxton-Hicks all morning.

"I'm going to need an extra set of hands for this," Miranda announced to Derek as they worked.

"That's perfect," Miranda encouraged, "You're a natural Dr. Shep- Miranda winced as a sharp pain shot through her belly.

Taking a deep breath to steady her hands, she moved forward and cut around the tissue near the stomach as Derek repeated what she did.

"Good," Miranda said and moved forward to take the scalpel, and then was stumbling backwards as another white-hot pain seared through her.

"Holy shit." Miranda said as her legs started buckling.

"Miranda" Derek exclaimed loudly,

"Aaahhhh!" Miranda shrieked as another contraction hit, this one a lot worse than the last. She inhales sharply and shakes her head as she rubs her stomach. Suddenly, she feels something wet and slippery run down her legs and she stares down at the wet spot forming on her scrubs. Everyone in the room looked down as they heard the splattering sound.

"Derek, my water just broke all over the OR Floor ."

"Some one get a wheel chair and page Webber so he can finish this surgery."

The intercom cut on and the chief spoke. "I'm coming now."

"I cant feel my legs." she said as another contraction hit. She bent over and grabbed his hand. He thought she might rip his hand off completely.

"Holy shit. Bailey" he said when she finally loosened her hold.

"Sorry." She replied softly. Derek picked Miranda up into his arms caring her out of the OR he didn't know what was taking so long to find a wheel chair in a hospital.
