Percy Jackson and... the Dramas of High School

Chapter 1 School Starts- Percy's PoV

It was the beginning of the school year. I was now a sophomore. But better yet, the rest of the gang were coming to school with me! We would be the cool group around school. Hopefully now that Annabeth is coming all the girls will stop flirting with me. If they don't Annabeth might chop their heads off. Yikes!
Paul and I ate breakfast and got in the car. Since he's my English teacher and step-dad I might as well ride to school with him. We arrived and at the front door was the gang. They were kind of awkward standing in front of a school they hadn't been to before.
"Hey guys!" I yelled running up to them.
"Percy!" Everyone exclaimed, Annabeth being the loudest. She ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my neck in a big hug.
"We missed you Percy," She said for the gang to hear. She then whispered, "But I missed you the most Seaweed Brain." She kissed my cheek and let go.
"So how does it feel now that everyone is here?" Jason asked me.
"Well," I began, "It's great that everyone is here, but..." I drifted off for effect.
"But what?" Annabeth asked.
"But if we don't finish this family reunion later we're all going to be late for class!" I replied. Everyone shook their head. We walked inside to our lockers and got our books. We all had the same schedule so the gang just followed me to the first class. The bell rang and math class started.
The substitute teacher for the day was Mrs. Harrison. She was actually kind of nice. We began with some Algebra and expressions. We later got into today's lesson.
A few classes later, it was lunch time.
"Come on guys!" Leo said impatiently. "Can't you put your books away any faster?"
"Stop being so impatient, Leo," Piper replied. "Oh and Leo? No, no we can't put our books away any faster."
"But I'm hungry!" Leo complained.
Once everyone had finished at their lockers, the seven walked to the cafeteria. Jason out his arm around Piper's shoulder, Frank held Hazel's hand, and me and Annabeth simply walked side by side. Even though our relationship was much deeper and longer than the other demigods, we didn't feel like drawing attention to ourselves or being romantic at the moment.
Once we sat down with our food, we began to eat. The food was really good today. Almost as if my mom were cooking it... I looked into the kitchen to see... "Mom?!" I yelled confused.
"Hey Percy," She beamed. "Look I'm trying not to embarrass you so try not to embarrass yourself."
"But why are you here?" I asked.
"Well the school needed better cooks so I applied. This is my kitchen now so I will do my best to make great for you, your friends, and all the other students. Well I have to work, Percy, so I'll see you later," my mother said and went back to work.
Wow I can't believe my mom is working here too, I thought as I walked back to the table.
By the time I came back everyone was done eating and Leo was just about to grab my chicken when he saw me coming back. He quickly pulled is hand back and whistled, pretending not to have done anything. I ate the rest of my chicken and the bell rang.
When school was over, I explained to the gang that just because today was the greatest first day of school with no problems and no drama doesn't mean that tomorrow things won't start to happen. They all understood.
We all walked to my house since we could all fit in Paul's car. It was fun having the whole gang with me, but it was only the beginning of a whole lot of problems.
