Chapter One: Who's The New Guy?

"No, no.. get away from me!" Whimpered Skyla as she awoke in panic, "It was just a dream." She whispered to herself slowly gazing around the room as her eyes started to open wider with the acknowledgment of the bright light shining through her curtains. Her head fell back onto her pillow with a groan of realisation that she had to get up for school, she kicked off her bed covers and slid out of bed landing on the floor with a thud "Skyla? Sweetie are you up?" Called her mum from the hallway, "Good morning mum." Skyla replied, scooting over to her wardrobe to get out her uniform. Skyla's school was very strict on how their student's
dressed, she spent what felt like hours trying to get ready to make sure her uniform was completely flawless and to insure that she didn't get told off by any of the teachers at her school.

That time rolled around in what felt like seconds, "Time for my day of hell" Skyla huffed. As she walked out of her house she took a moment to look around at her beautiful city admiring the appearance the morning gave it, "Skyla! Stop day dreaming and let's go, you don't want to be late." Her mum ordered, with a smirk appearing on her face as she slipped into the car lightly shutting the door behind her, Skyla rolled her eyes and made her way to the car, "Who were you dreaming about this time?" Her mum teased "I wasn't dreaming about anyone actually." Skyla sarcastically snapped "Oh really" her mum teased again holding back her laughter. "Mum, Have you ever taken a moment to look at the world around us and just admire it's beauty?" Skyla questioned "Why the sudden the interest?" Her mum asked "I don't know, it's just..." She hesitated "Just what?" Said her mum, now more concerned "It's just occurred to me that sometimes you think of how boring things can be and there's nothing exciting to change the boring stuff, you know?" Her mum laughed "What would you change then? What would you make less boring?" Skyla took a brief moment to stop and think as she knew what to say she was just picturing in her mind how she could word it, "I mean like everything is fine, I guess but I just want something to happen... something that can add a bit of excitement to my boring life" she stopped on her words quickly like she was going to continue on and on "Or maybe not something to happen... maybe someone to happen" she corrected "Ok hunny you've lost it" her mum couldn't hold back her laughter anymore and just let it out as she was trying to turn Skyla's negative into more of a positive.

As she arrived at school she grabbed her bag and just stared out the window at the giant scary building that was just metres away, she took a deep breath and turned to face her mum "Have a good day sweetie" her mum said softly as she stretched out an arm to hug her from across the drivers seat "Thanks mum" Skyla returned, she then turned back the other way and opened the car door to step out to make her entrance, she shut the door behind her as her mum drove off. "Here we go" Skyla Sighed.

She slowly started to walk up the pathway up to the schools main doors when suddenly "SKYLA!!" came from the other side of the courtyard, Skyla quickly turned but was taken off her feet by a giant force that pushed her down. "Maddie!?" Skyla groaned "What did I tell you about doing that to me?!" She got up off the floor and aggressively swung her bag round so it was sitting upon her back again "I'm sorry, I'm just happy to see you." Maddie rushed "When aren't you?" Skyla cackled, she stopped her laughing and looked around both sides of the courtyard "Wait where's Lexi?" Skyla said "Oh yeah she's not coming in today" Maddie sighed "Seriously? Again?" Skyla complained "I know right, she's such a skyver" Maddie said trying to hold back a laugh "But we don't need her to have fun" She said coming back to seriousness. Maddie grabbed Skyla's arm and pulled her in through the doors "Woahhh!" Skyla yelled being taken off guard as she stumbled to her feet trying not to fall again.

Walking through the halls of the school seemed like walking around a maze, but a maze that had display boards round every corner as far as the I could see, "I keep forgetting how big this place is" Skyla said losing her breath in the middle of her sentence, Maddie said nothing and just continued to walk until they didn't know where they were walking to, Maddie stopped dead in her tracks causing Skyla to walk into her "Watch where your sto-" Skyla started but immediately stopped her words as she and Maddie were lost in heaven, a tall, handsome guy was walking down the hallway coming towards the girls. They couldn't move or talk their eyes were fixed on the dark and mysterious guy walking towards them, it felt like time had stopped and everything was moving in slow motion or he was at least as he captivated their full attention with the strut in which he walked, his skin was pale, his hair was dark and parted to the side as it covered his one eye giving him a more secretive look, his piercing blue eyes were enough to catch anyone off guard and sending them straight into a trance as if they were being hypnotised on the spot, it was no surprise that everyone was staring at this gorgeous figure that now roamed these halls as well as everyone else.
