Chapter Three: Leon Stone

It had been a few months later and school for Skyla was still as traumatic as ever, especially knowing there was someone walking round the school who had the ability to make their eyes turn blood red and also turn people into stone statues. Skyla still had hundreds of thoughts rushing around in her head of how it was all possible, because she didn't believe in mystical creatures like ghosts, werewolves, zombies and vampires, 'they were all in movies right?' Skyla questioned. As the days went on, avoiding red eyed medusa seemed to be getting easier, and it was either because of Skyla's now seeming good luck or he just wasn't in school every day 'Skyver' Skyla thought, but thoughts of why he wouldn't be in school every day then started flashing through her mind "Ughh who is this guy?!" Skyla groaned in frustration, she knew he was hiding something and she wanted to find out what it was which means the 'I have to stay away from him' was now definitely not an option.

The next day Skyla and Maddie were waiting out in the front courtyard for the first bell to go, Maddie talking to Skyla but Skyla completely zoned out with the thoughts of who mr tall, dark and mysterious really was. "Heyyy bitchesss!!" came from across the courtyard, Skyla's head quickly lifted as she was now back to reality "Jesus Christ, where the hell have you been?" She called back "LEXIII!!" screamed Maddie, running up and flinging her arms around her "Oh you know, was busy" Lexi cackled as she let go of Maddie and came up the step to hug Skyla "Really? Busy? With what?" Skyla said hugging her back "Avoiding this shit hole" said Lexi forcing out her laughter. Skyla shook her head "Naughty girl." She said also forcing out a laugh.

Moments later the fist bell rang and the girls headed inside. 'Still try to avoid him Skyla' she thought, they came into the main corridor where the sounds of girls laughter and screams filled the hallways, 'oh shit' Skyla thought, of course he would stood there with loads of girls stood around him laughing and giggling while he so smug leans against the lockers. "Woah, who is that?" Lexi asked, her tone very intrigued, Skyla couldn't bring herself to say anything only because of she's seen things in him that if she were to tell anyone they would laugh at her as if she was a psychopath. "That's the new guy, he's been here for over a month now, but not in school everyday" Maddie said nudging Skyla and Lexi both on the arm "He's a bit like you Lex." Maddie laughed, Skyla stared down the hallway at where he was, once again zoning out, and looking at all the girls who were stood around him giving him all the attention. She had been staring so intensely she completely blocked out Maddie and Lexi's conversation about him, "I think he's got a thing for Skyla" Maddie whispered in hope that Skyla didn't hear, "What? Oh shut up that's ridiculous" Skyla said coming back to reality. "Oops" Maddie said hiding behind Lexi's shoulder, Skyla again turned to look down the hallway, when she noticed him turn his head to look back at her and immediately she broke eye contact to look the other way 'shit' she thought as she didn't know what he was going to do now he knew she was staring at him. She slowly turned her head to look back at him to see that he had disappeared, Skyla started looking all around the hallway but he was nowhere to be seen, "Lexi, Maddie did you see where he- AHH!" She screamed, Lexi, Maddie and everyone else were once again stone statues, "Who you looking for princess?" said a voice from behind, Skyla paused as she felt her hands start to shake 'stay calm' she thought as she slowly turned to face him, he towered over her and she felt like an ant compared to him. "Well," he said "I asked you a question didn't I?" his cocky voice still sounding very sexy 'don't give in to his charms' she thought "I wasn't looking for anyone actually." Skyla commanded "I think your lying to me princess." he said in return. "Stop calling me that!" Skyla demanded, it fell silent for a minute he stopped with his cocky ness and a small laugh came out "Here's the thing, I can call you whatever I want and there's nothing you can say or do that's going to stop me." his tone changed, he now sounded very commanding and scary, as she made eye contact, Skyla got a glimpse of what she was hoping was only just one of her nightmares, his eyes once again were the bright blood red colour they had turned before but this time seemed more intense, and before she knew it he had her again backed up against the lockers where he put his arms up both sides trapping her in his embrace. Skyla stood shaking in her shoes, her breathing quickening to an almost painful level and she thought she was going to use up all her breath that she had "Please.... don't hurt me." She whimpered, her eyes squeezed shut as she was just imagining the things he could do to her right now, he took a long deep breath "Look at me" he said very commanding, Skyla didn't hesitate; although she was absolutely petrified she immediately looked at him making direct eye contact, he put his hand under her chin again but this time he used his thumb to gently stroke her cheek, "I would never hurt you" he said finally "You wouldn't?" She stuttered "No, I wouldn't", "You might have seen things in me that you'd probably believe are evil, but I don't hurt innocent people." he continued. Skyla felt her breathing slow down again as now she started to feel like he wasn't who he made himself out to be. She tried to gather her thoughts as maybe now was a good time to ask him some of the questions she had whizzing through her head, "I'm sorry..." she said innocently, he released his hand from her cheek and steadied himself up from the lockers "What are you sorry for?" He asked "For giving you all the attitude and for yelling at you... twice" she mumbled. He then stood in front of her sliding his hands into his pockets and shrugged his shoulders, "Yeah i mean you are a feisty one aren't you?" He laughed "Not all the time" she informed brushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "Well I like your feisty side." he teased "Really? Because whenever I get rude to you, you look like you want to kill me" she said "Yeah I know, but that was just a little defensive mechanism to basically say that I'm not someone to mess with" he corrected. Skyla just continued to look at him, she had gotten more confident with how she now looked and spoke to him. Her mind went straight to one question that she desperately wanted to know the answer to: "What are you?" she asked, a nervous look suddenly appeared on his face and he looked like he had lost his ability to speak "I-i'm sorry.." Skyla spoke again with a guilt lingering in her voice "No it's fine." he said out of no where "But I can't answer that right now" his voice sounded shaky like as if her question was some kind of weakness to him, "What do you mean?" Skyla said stepping closer to him, as he very quickly backed away like he had major reflexes and knew when exactly to move, Skyla stopped mid-step, he looked at her "You can't know about that yet....if they find out that you know, they'll kill us both" he said very direct "Who's they?" She followed "Please..." he started "Just know when to not ask about things that don't involve you." he said turning quickly and walking off. Skyla's eyes followed him when she heard the noise of voices fill the hallways again "Sky what are you doing over here again?" Maddie said, Skyla looked back at her very puzzled "Oh god, is this the part where you drag me to the girls bathroom again?" Maddie spoke again folding her arms "No, no I'm fine." Skyla said in a reassuring tone "Oh.... ok well lets go then." Maddie said grabbing Skyla's arm and pulling her away from the lockers.
