I wake up to the smell of... bacon? My alarm didn't go off this morning, I must have forgotten to set it last night.
I'm not surprised. I'm still in a lot of shock after seeing Sarah. Ugh. Freakin Sarah.
I hop out of bed and walk out to the kitchen. Dean is already there cooking some bacon and eggs.
"Good morning sunshine!" He seems to be in a good mood.
I rub my eyes and smile at him.
"So, will I be expecting to see this kind of breakfast every morning?" I say while practically drooling over the food.
"Probably. I like my protein in the morning. Occasional pancakes or waffles if I feel like spicing things up." He smirks.
"Well that sounds fantastic. It'll be nice having my own private chef." I tease as I take a strip of bacon and put it into my mouth.
"So what's on your agenda today?" Dean asks.
"I told Cali I'd be at work today. Speaking of work, do you even have a job?" I ask curiously.
"No, but I'll get one." He says as he shoves a spoonful of eggs into his mouth.
Gross.
"Okay. Well, I'm going to get ready for the day." I say walking out of the kitchen.
I put on a T-shirt and some shorts that hit right above my upper thigh. I comb my hair out, leaving the natural waves they create.
*knock *knock
"Come in!" I yell.
"Hey, I was just thinking... well Shane and I were thinking..." Dean mumbles.
I turn to look at Dean. I can't hear a single word he is saying.
"What Dean?" I ask softly.
"Well, with Sarah returning. We were wondering if you are considering coming back to the team?" He says quietly.
My eyes widen at the thought of it. I know he means well by asking me this question, but after mom died, I couldn't bare to get back into the fight and possibly lose another person that I hold close to me.
"You know how I feel about that Dean..." I say calmly.
"I know. We just miss you. You really make the team complete." He says as he grabs his hair with his hand.
I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his waist. Resting my head on his chest.
"You know I'm always around for you guys. Just not in the action." I say with a tiny laugh to ease the tension.
"Okay, I better get going or Cali might yell at me." I continue.
"Yeah, like Cali would ever yell at you." Dean laughs.
I give him a wink and head out the door.
...
"Good morning Astra." Cali says cheerfully as I enter the store.
"Good morning Cali, how was your night?" I ask.
"It was pretty good. I was sure tired after our beach fire though. Dillan and Sarah stayed at the fire with us for another hour after you guys left." She says.
I can feel my face flush. I turn my face to look out the window, trying to hide it from Cali. And to my surprise, Sarah is right there. Outside of the window looking right at me with a smile on her face.
"Ugh! Can't I get a break?" I yell.
I look back at Cali who looks confused.
"I'm sorry, I thought it would be okay to talk about Dillan and Sarah since you guys haven't dated for a year." She says quietly and clearly embarrassed.
