There he was, the man himself. Terrell. The guy I've been watching on Tik Tok for over a couple years now. I watched as he went through different stages of his life, when he got a new car, when he moved to the US, when he got settled in the group home of other TikTokers.
When he went on a date with girl that he was really excited to get to know; only to have her ghost him and all the sad POVs that followed.
I just never thought I'd ever have a chance to meet him in person and let him know I'm one of his followers from the beginning and that I never had any intentions of ever hurting him or leaving.
His eyes beamed bright, the sun hitting his eyes just right that lite up my whole world.
Chocolate pools with golden flecks that lined his eyes, his skin so clear and tan, his gorgeous smile shinning bright in the sun and his perfect, plump lips. He scanned the room with his eyes taking in all the girls, some were crying, some were laughing, some were trying desperately to get him to notice them, and then there was me.
I stood in the back by the kitchen entrance as the girls ran between the guys starting petty conversations with them, but I hadn't grown enough courage to go over there yet. I remained still and quiet just taking in the scene before me not noticing someone walking towards me. I figured it was Brooke since she's the only one I really have made friends with. The person stopped beside me but didn't say anything. We stood in silence for a good minute before I glanced over. My heart started to beat a million beats a minute when I realized it wasn't who I thought it was. It was Terrell. His large stature naturally towering over my five foot two inch self. I tried to take large breaths to calm me, but his rich cologne filled my nose and my heart fluttered. I could feel my cheeks start to inflame and could feel my knees start to shake. I tried to remind myself that he was just a person but it didn't do a ounce of good.
We remained quiet, I could feel his eyes on me but I was too frightened to look up at him. I stared at the ground while he stared at me and it was as if time stopped around us."You're the only girl that hasn't come up to me with some sort of impressive fact about themself or using a day old pickup line on me."
His deep husky voice boomed from beside me. I couldn't help a small smile from appearing on my face.
" I guess I'm just not the type" I said, quietly taking in the fact my voice sounded confident and solid even though internally I was a panicky mess. He let a soft laugh out. I turned my gaze from the rage of girls over to him. I slowly craned my neck to look at his face. His eyes were so much more extraordinary up close, his dark curls so pronounced and soft looking. He was ravishing.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Katherina" I replied looking down again.
" Wow, Katerina, that's a beautiful name. Definitely fit for a beautiful woman like yourself." I could feel my heart banging against my rib cage, I was almost afraid he'd hear it. He called me beautiful, he thinks I'm attractive. That's something right? Or is he just being polite?
"Thanks Terrell" I manage to mumble. His eyes lite up when I said his name. I could tell he was about to say something when Simon started tapping on a champagne glass with a fork.
" I just wanted to thank you all for showing up and I'm hoping that this experience will be amazing for everyone. Remember the rules ladies" he said looking over at a group of girls, " Remember that there are cameras and audio recording everywhere except the bathrooms, and most importantly just have fun." Simon said cheerfully as he walks out of the living room.
" Are you staying in this house or where will the guys be?" I ask returning my attention back to Terrell. He looked at me with a smile,
"You answer a question of mine and I'll answer yours" he said in a playful manner.
" Okay, fine. What is it?" I said returning the playful attitude.
He turned to face me, licked his lips while glancing at mine, then his eyes return to mine, " How'd you know my name?" My heart once more started beating fast and I began to heat up.
I couldn't say that I stalked his profile a couple times a day for the past couple years that'd be awkward. So I told a white lie, "I heard some of the girls talking about you nonstop on the plane ride here, even saw some of your videos." His face fell in disappointment and his smile faltered for a split second. I couldn't yet tell why that made him upset. But it hurt my heart seeing him like that.
I was about to ask him again where he was staying but got rudely interrupted by the nice Georgia peach, Melissa.
"Hey suga I couldn't figure out where you had run off too, I wasn't done telling you about me.
But anyways, the girls have decided to watch a movie down in theatre room, care to join us?"
Melissa spoke confidently, she glanced between us and then back to him with hopefully eyes. We both looked at him, he thought about it for a minute and then nodded his head, she giggled loudly and pulled him by his arm away from me. He glanced back at me, I gave him a shy smile and then watched as he disappeared with Melissa down the stairs. My heart felt both heavy and happy. Heavy because I knew I lied to him about actually knowing who he was, but happy because I didn't make a complete fool of myself. I walked through the empty house heading towards the swing on the back porch. The sun was starting to fade behind the clouds and the sky resonated a beautiful red and orange display. It was a lovely night out, not cold but not hot either. I laid down on the swing and just looked up at the stars.
Some time passed as I had my eyes closed but I was so relaxed that I just didn't care. Until I heard the sliding doors open and heard as someone slipped out. Actually, from the footsteps, two somebodies. I remained still and quiet as I listened to the two people talk.
" I don't know man, as soon as I laid my eyes on her I couldn't look away. She looked so familiar as if I knew her already, but when I talked to her she seemed to not even know who I was." A deep, rich voice rang into the silence.
"Well wouldn't you prefer her to get to know the real you than just think she knows everything about you like the others do? Just from watching your videos?" Another male voice sounded.
" I don't know, bro, I just want to get to know her. She seems so different compared to the others. Like in a good way. I felt comfortable just standing beside her, talking to her. She didn't treat me different or hang all over me." The first voice boomed. The voice sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. I heard them talk for a little while longer and than I watched as their silhouettes lite up when they walked back inside. One seemed very familiar. An owl screeched in the far distance causing the second guy to turn slightly towards where I was laying, and I said Terrell. His unmistakable features, allowing me to see part of his face and body.
Who was he talking about? Who was the girl? Could it have been me he was talking about? No there's no way. Probably just another girl he met in the house. My heart ached as I drew the strength to get up and take myself inside.
After an eventful night like this, I'm going to sleep.
