"Anakin protect our child with your life please. No matter what ani..." padmé said looking at me. Her words were beginning to slur. I could tell that her life would be ending shortly and there was nothing I could do about it.

"Padmé no....padmé stay with me please!" I whisper shouted. Soon enough her hand fell limp in mine. Her eyes glossed over as her chest stopped rising.

I looked down feeling the tears come to my eyes. I haven't really cried since my mother died and it was very unlike me to show emotion in such a space. But this was something I couldn't prevent. I just lost my wife, my best friend, the mother of my child. I couldn't hold this in.

I shut my eyes shut as I brought her pale hand to my lips. Tears fell from my eyes as memories of padme and I fled in. Meeting her, marrying her, spending every moment I ever did with her.

I felt the presence of someone familiar in the room. I opened my eyes and looked to the right. Obi-wan was looking in my direction. "Master skywalker, she delivered a healthy baby girl." The droid said walking to me with my child in its hands.

I gently let go of padmé's hand and looked at the droid. It lowered its arms so I could see her. I took the small bundle in my arms and started to cry slightly harder. She was nothing but beautiful.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was a touch of a brother. He provided comfort, support and grief love.

A tear of mine fell onto her face. I shakily brought my hand to her face and wiped it off. "It's just us two now."

time skip : 4-5 months

"You're mother was indescribable. Stubborn like you." I laughed, tickling Octavia's cheek causing her to smile. "I remember meeting her for the first time when I was eight. I thought she was an angle, because she was so beautiful. Your grandma told me angels were the most beautiful things to grace humanity, so i just made sense when i saw her for the first time." Octavia was staring at me, almost as if  she was intently listening to what i was saying.

That gave me a feeling that she wanted me to continue, so to fulfill the embassidors daughters wishes, i did. "She was feisty and so intelligent. She was passionate and wanted the best for her people." I paused, sitting down, repositioning Octavia onto my lap, facing me.

"She was hard to persuade as well, I got lucky and somehow persuaded her to marry me. On our wedding she was beautiful, her eyes were full of excitement and bliss. Mine were probably the same." She cooed and giggled at herself, making me smile.

"I remember her telling me, she was expecting you. I'm not going to lie to you, I was scared and fearful of not only you, but also my life. I'm grateful that I still have my position as jedi knight. Don't get me wrong, I was ecstatic that Ms. Octavia would be alive and walking around the temple." I brought her to my face, tickling her stomach, making her laugh.

"And here we are. Sadly mama didn't make it, but believe me my young skywalker, she's here in spirit. She'll be watching when you say your first words, walk your first steps, become a youngling, hold your lightsaber, and continue ranking up. But for now, she'll be cheering you on for successfully sleeping through the night." I smiled, kissing via's face. She placed her hands on my face and smiled.

"You look just like her Octavia." I looked at her face, seeing the same bright eyes she had. Octavia did look like me, but to an extent. She was a mini padmé. Whenever I really got to look at octavia and take in her facial features, it made me just think and wonder about her future. I'd get a little funny feeling in my heart and smile.

I truly can't wait until she's older, so I can teach her, watch her thrive, watch her become something. For now though, her being here is more than enough for me.
