Stuck In The Void With You

WARNING! OXYGEN LEVEL: 20%

"...Rudy?" A thin and low voice broke the silence inside the escape pod

"Yeah, Ali?"

"How long has it been since we escaped..?" The younger man looked over to his partner, eyes filled with exhaustion from their successful mission before.

The said man sighed softly, taking out his phone.
"Almost an hour.. who knows how many days had passed on earth"

Ali only hummed back in response. Taking thin and short breaths to avoid using too much of their oxygen supply.

Currently, both of them are losing hope of getting back home to earth safely, the escape pod was damaged, making it floating endlessly in the dark void we call space. They tried contacting the hq to which they succeed, tho it would take some time for them to be found.

Ali shivered at the low temperature of the atmosphere, hugging himself to warm his body to which Rudy noticed.

"You're cold aren't you.." the older man scooted closed to the other, wrapping his arms around the smaller figure to which he gladly let him do so.

"Rudy..?"

"Yeah?"

"...are we going to make it back home?"

"..."

"I'm.. not so sure." Rudy replied reluctantly as he ran his fingers through Ali's dark locks in attempt to give comfort to the Tekno agent. Ali let out a long heavy sigh and just stayed in the position he's currently in. Rudy kept running his fingers through the young man's hair, eyes locked on the monitor screen that was displaying the oxygen percentage left in the pod.

Oh how he prayed that the both of them could survive this, how he prayed that the search team will find them before the oxygen ran out. But in a place like this, hope is very thin.

The two agents sat there on the metal floor of the pod. Holding eachother close as they wait patiently for them to be found, slowly shutting their eyes to rest.

The sound of the emergency alarm blared through out the escape pod, startling the two peaceful figure from their slumber.

"What's going on-"

Rudy didn't move from his place and he looked at the monitor's screen.

WARNING! OXYGEN LEVEL: 2%

"Ali?"

The said man looked up to the other, worry started to build inside of him.

Rudy let out a bitter chuckle,

"You..forgave me for everything I've done to you back when we were teenagers..right? Because if you haven't yet..I'm sorry if I ever wounded you badly or so."

Ali stared at him for a good 5 second.

"You idiot! Of course I do! Why wouldn't I forgive you when the fact that you've been by my side all this time, you're my best friend along side with Alicia, Rudy."

"Just making sure..before the both of us move on towards the next life."

The Inviso slowly opened his arms.

WARNING! OXYGEN LEVEL: 1%

Ali already felt tears escaping from his eyes as he jumped into Rudy's arms. Giving each other on last hug.

As they parted,

"I'll see you soon, Ali."

Ali clicked his tongue and firmly held Rudy's hands,

"If only it didn't have to end like this.."

" See you later then."

It was already too late when the rescue team arrived.

Alicia being the lead if the search could only look at the two frozen bodies of her closest friends in grief.

What makes it more hard for her is their position when they opened the pod.

Holding themselves in each others embrace till their final breath.

"I'm sorry..I could have saved you both on time.."
