Chapter 6

"Come on, you can do it" I told Kyle, holding both of his shoulders while facing him.

He responded with a nod. I froze when I felt him hug me, it made my heart panic. I glanced at his teammates who were looking at us, I smiled at them awkwardly. Nagpaalam ako kay Kyle and told him na magkita na lang kami after ng game. I assured him I'd be cheering loudly for him!

Nang makarating kami sa arena ay maganda naman ang seat namin, court side, nasa gilid lang ang mga players. I was with Yu, Mary, Daisy, and our other blockmates. I was holding a white balloon, the color of our school.

Tinawag na ang mga players na maglalaro sa first quarter. Kyle and Michael were part of it! kinabahan ako. The crowd became wild as they saw the players from each school na pumunta sa kanilang positions.

I was watching Kyle and praying that he would be able to play his best, that he would not be injured, and that they would win. They can do it. I waved my hands when I noticed Kyle smiled at me then winked before the game began.

His face became serious when he heard the referee whistle. Hindi ko alam kung bakit parang mas kinakabahan pa ako kay Kyle, he looked cool while I was praying na hindi siya ma-injure!

"Martinez going for three points! and bang!" Everyone shouted when Michael shot the ball.

Kyle and Michael were monsters on the court; they created an excellent combo. Alam nila kung kailan ipapasa ang bola sa isa't-isa and never silang hindi naka-puntos!

Naagaw ng opponent 'yung bola but our team managed na makuha ulit 'yung bola, pinasa 'yon kay Kyle. He threw it effortlessly onto the ring and still shoot the fucking ball, which was impressive.

"Bang! Martinez's three points were followed by three more points by Enriquez!!" I shouted so loud.

Damn, he was a beast in court! Kyle laughed like he was proud of himself, and so do I! Nag-apir sila ni Michael pero bumalik agad sa paglalaro.

"Have they always been that fierce on the court?" I asked Mary dahil matagal na silang magkakakilala.

"Yeah, they're like wild beasts inside the court, they use their brains too" Mary shrugged and pointed her head.

Tambak ang kalaban sa first quarter kaya I was chilling, medyo kinabahan lang ako sa second quarter because the opponent changed their players at nakakahabol na sila.

We were shouting the chant of our school so loud while waving our balloons up, may hawak pang banner si daisy habang nakatayo.

"Yeah!" Mary and I shouted together when a player from our school finished the second quarter with 2 points!

Sa third quarter, nilabas muna si Michael and Kyle because they're probably exhausted na from being babad sa court.

Sinundan ko ng tingin si Kyle, uminom siya ng water from his tumbler. Umupo siya and looked around, trying to find someone. Hindi naman gaano kalayo ang upuan namin from the players kaya kitang-kita ko siya, we were seated on the court side. I waved my hands when he faced our side, ngumiti agad siya when he found me.

Nag thumbs up ako sa kaniya to tell him that he did really well, I wanted to compliment him but I couldn't leave my seat, at baka pagalitan siya ng coach niya!
