It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve come to America and I’m really enjoying it. Over the past few weeks I’ve been mostly hanging out with nico, but that’s where the problem is. I’ve started to develop new feelings for him. Whenever I looked at him I would get filled up with all this happiness and I would now blush around him. I think I might like him.

No, I can’t let that happen. He’s my best friend, I’m sure it’s just because I’m a teenager. Yea that’s it.

Today was the last day of the term and at night there would be a dance. Yay, I hope you recognise that I’m actually dreading this. I say dance are there to make us look awkward. I just hate them. I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked to school. I don’t think I ever described Westover hall did I.

Well from the outside it looked like a giant castle but it was made of black stone, once you were inside there where halls that where decorated with all sorts of weapons. Swords, knives, guns…. You name it and its there. I know it’s a military school but did it really need to go that far.

Our vice principle Dr. Thorn loved everything to do with weaponry, but he was quite strict. Lately I’ve noticed he’s taking a liking to the Di Angelo siblings, you know always watching them. It creeps me out at times.

I wore something comfortable for today, I normally go for something leathery because that’s the easiest to move in. I arrived at school and walked through the halls, as usual they were covered in machinery.

Nico was rushing towards me hold a figurine in his hand. He had a bright smile on his face as he sprinted towards me. Even though he’s 12 he sure acts like a toddler.

“Madi, madi guess what Bianca got me, she got me Zeus’s figurine. Now I just need Hades and I will have got them all.” He said excitedly. Yep he’s still a massive Mythomagic fan. I still like Mythomagic but I’m more into reading about the Greek gods and monsters and titan and you know all those types of things.

“Well we better try find that figurine” I said with a small chuckle. Suddenly I was now being dragged down the hall by nico. He dragged me into our usual spot at the library. The spot with the window seat. We usually come her at lunch but not before school. Something must be up.

“Hey what’s wrong” I said worriedly to him. He look up from the floor and into my eyes. He took a deep breath. His hands fiddling with the Zeus figurine.

“Well I have this friend and he really likes this girl, but he thinks that the girl just sees him as a small child. What do you um think he should do?” he spoke quickly. When did nico have a friend other than me? Wait oh I see what he did there. Wait he likes someone, I knew I didn’t stand a chance. Ahh stop madi you don’t have feelings for him, he’s like you brother. I looked up to nico, he was now looking back at the floor.

“I may not be the best at relationships but I think you should tell her, if she doesn’t like you like that then she wasn’t worth it, okay” I said kindly he looked up.

“How did you know it was me?” he asked. I did a little chuckle

“Please don’t take this badly but I’m pretty sure I’m your only friend” I said with a small chuckle and lightly punching his shoulder. I could see that he was trying to hide a blush from me. It looked like he was about to say something, but the bell interrupted him. I got up and collected my things.
