"You can't force her, she's not Claire" said Griffin to Brody
"I'm not gonna force her, I just want to see if she would want to" said Brody
"She doesn't even know that about Claire" said Griffin
"She should" said Brody
"But mom said we shouldn't tell her because she'd feel like she'd have to take after Claire, do what she did" said Griffin
"I just want to ask is all" said Brody walking away
"Heidi!" yelled Brody up the steps.
Griffin stood behind him shaking his head
"What!?" yelled Heidi back.
"Come down here, please"
"Why!?" she yelled back
"Heidi, would you just come down here, I want to ask you something, without yelling up the steps" he said kinda annoyed.
She finally came down the steps.
"I'm trying to finish my math homework" she said
Brody sighed "Do you wanna go for a run with me and Griffin?"
"Why would I wanna do that?" she asked
"See told ya" said Griffin leaning against the counter with his arms folded behind Brody
"Because it would be good for you" said Brody rolling his eyes at Griffin
"How so?"
"I've seen how you can play an entire game of soccer without needing a break. You have good endurance and running will only help you" said Brody
Heidi had face like she was thinking.
"What's in it for me?" she asked
Brody laughed, so did Griffin.
"What?" Brody asking laughing,
"I mean like I'd go for a run with you guys if you do my math homework" she said
Brody laughed "No" he said "I'd help you with it, but I'm not doing it for you"
"Okay fine, but how far are we running?"
"We just go till we can't anymore" said Griffin
"Sounds so fun" Heidi said sarcastically
Brody sighed "Just go change if you are coming, you have 5 minutes"
Heidi ran upstairs to change and came back down shortly
"Okay lets go" she said.
They headed out the door and headed for the trails that lead all the way around the farm and woods. Heidi easily kept up with her brothers, although she suspected they were going slower than usual.
"You don't have to purposely go slower for me" she said
"Fine" said Brody stepping up the pace.
"I kinda like this pace actually" said Griffin
Heidi sped up to keep up with Brody. Griffin fell behind.
"I don't understand why you guys love running so much. Who in their right mind likes to run?" said Heidi
Brody laughed " Its good for, it makes me feel unstoppable"
Heidi laughed
"And see, it seems pretty easy for you"
"We haven't even ran that far"
"Actually its been about a mile"
"Really?" asked Heidi kinda shocked.
"Yes" said Brody with a chuckle
Heidi shoved him, he shoved back and they kept running. After a long while Brody stopped.
"Alright thats it" he said out of breathe
"Already?"
"Heidi its been 4 miles, at a fast pace"
Griffin came running up behind him. "Jesus Heidi" he said.
Heidi turned around "What?"
"Aren't you tired?" asked Griffin
"Maybe a little"
"Maybe a little?" said Griffin, "Your insane"
"But she's good" said Brody.
Heidi smiled
Brody held at his hand, Heidi took and they walked back home.
