Chapter 1: Kara's POV: How we met

My mom's birthday is next week so I'm at the mall today looking for this CD she's been talking nonstop about so I can give it to her as her birthday gift. I've been to like five music stores already and they don't have it so I'm praying that Wal-Mart is a decent enough store to have it on stock.

Mom told me she wanted either the CD or a pan. I found the pan totally ridiculous, I mean who would waste a gift on a cooking utensil. If someone is gonna give you something for free you expect that person to ask for shoes or money or a movie or a dress or a video game or a book or I don't know, something for your own personal use. She has a million things she could ask for and all she wants is a pan?? That is why is I chose the CD. I already bought her another thing, a blue silky dress knee length. I know she's gonna love it.

While I was walking through the aisles I saw those things that they have at stores where they have a game console and they let you play a demo of whatever game they want to sell you. Last week they had the Just Dance game for Wii. Today they have Rock Band and the thing is that I love that game, literally Love that game. Though I don't actually play any instruments I think I play the guitar pretty decently.

Today must be my lucky day because the kids that where playing finished the song just when I was walking by them. That must have been a sign or something so I decided to play. I looked round me to make sure nobody is watching because I do not play good when I'm under pressure. I feel like I must do it perfectly because someone is watching me and criticizing me.

I had to choose between the drums, the microphone and the guitar so of course I chose the guitar.

While I was choosing the level of difficulty and the character I wanted to represent me in the game this cute boy, who seemed familiar, came to me and asked, "Do you mind if I play with you?"

"No, its okay." I answered, smiling at him. I was sure I had seen him before, but since I couldn't remember and I probably wasn't going to see him ever again I decided to let it go.

He chose his instrument, which where the drums, then his character.

After I chose my player and all that stuff I asked him what song did he wanted to play and he told me that I could choose whatever song I liked. In the first two songs he got a higher score than I did but at the third one I won by a lot.

After we played three songs I told him "I have to go now".

"Can't you play one more?" he begged. "PLEASE" he said, now giving me the puppy face. I think he wanted to try beat me again.

I started laughing and laughing and laughing because his face was funny. It was SO funny I started crying from laughter and I almost peed my pants. I couldn't even describe it.

"Okay" I said after I was finally able to breathe "but just one more because I have to get going"

"Okay" he said, now blushing. I think he was embarrassed of me. I was sorry because I didn't mean to do that, but I just couldn't help it.

The song ended like 2 minutes later. I was about to leave when he asked "Do you want to eat lunch with me?"

I just stared at him for like ten seconds and then I walked away. I didn't answered him because first of all because he took me off guard and surprised me. Second of all I thought he was joking, and even if he wasn't you don't just around eating lunch with people you just met without even know them, or at least knowing their name.

When I found the music aisle I decided to ask one of the employees if they had the CD instead of wasting my time looking for it myself since I probably wasn't going to find it.
