Chapter 4: Kara's POV:  Random

"Hi" I said back.

Kyle bents to pick up something from the floor then hands me back my pen.

"Thanks" I said taking my pen from his hand.

"No problem" he answers smiling.  My goodness he's always smiling, doesn't it hurts his cheeks at some point.  This is so ridiculous, why am I even thinking about this.

I turned to my notebook and started drawing circles in it trying to tame the sudden butterflies that formed in my stomach. Suddenly I figure out why Kyle seemed so familiar to me before: because he studies in my school. Everything makes sense now: Kyle is here because he studies here  not because he's a stalker or anything, though I must admit that thought did cross my mind.

I realized how dumb I was and I smacked my head against the palm of my hand in frustration.

"Are you alright?" Kyle asked.

"Yeah, yeah. Its just that I forgot something." I replied.

So now that I know why Kyle seemed so familiar to me before I don't know how to act with him. I really haven't talked to him that much; if we've exchanged two or three sentences at school I would say that is too much.  I think is better if I just act like I've never seen him before.  Maybe he won't talk to me ever again so everything will be fine and forgotten.

I forgot everything about Kyle for the rest of my following classes.  The day turned out to be pretty exciting and up until now  I don't have any homework, which is a miracle.

"So, are you gonna tell me what was that all about this morning?" Sara asks me, as soon as I lay my tray in front of her, raising her eyebrows and smiling at me like I am keeping a good juicy secret that she is about to get from me.

"What about this morning" I said opening my salad dressing with my teeth.

"You know...about the cute guy who said hi to you this morning though I have never seen you talk to him before."

"What about him?" I asked mixing the salad and the dressing with the fork.

"Oh, come on! Don't act like it was nothing because you and I both know it was something." "I know you like the palm of my hand which is how I know you're keeping something from me."

"What are you talking about!  Why do you always make something out of nothing? You just have an excessive imagination, maybe too much sugar in your blood is making you hallucinate things."

"So you are implying that I hallucinated when your pen fell from your hand when he turned around or you staring at him with your mouth hanging open just for too long while he was walking to take a seat beside you."

I stared at her while I chewed my salad slowly to win time to think of a comeback since she caught me off guard.  I totally forgot how observant she was.  She always saw those little details that nobody else noticed which sometimes could be good for gossiping, but only when the subject of her interest is someone else and not me.

I have to tell her the truth, I mean she's my best friend and we tell each other everything.

"Okay, I'm gonna tell you but you have to promise that you won't make a big deal out of this okay?"

"Okay I promise" she said.

"You remember the guy I told you about that I met at the store while looking for my mom's birthday gift?"

"Yes."

"That he invited me to lunch, I said no but we still ate lunch together."

"Yes, yes. But what does he has to do with the guy from this morning?"
