Chapter 2: Kara's POV: Sarah
School is gonna start about two months from now. I've noticed how out of shape I am lately so I decided to do a summer exercise plan to get in shape. Now I'm going to run every morning two miles starting today or tomorrow. I know that my "exercise plan" isn't really an exercise routine but is more than I've ever done before, besides you never know when you're gonna have to run and today I feel like doing some exercise you know, moving my body. I don't like doing things alone so I've decided to invite Sarah to be my partner.
"Hey Sarah" I say as soon as she picks up her phone.
"Yeah. Um...why on Earth are you calling me at seven in the morning??" she asks with a rough voice probably because she was sleeping just two seconds ago.
"Way to greet a friend!!" I say
"Yeah, well that's what you get for waking me up so early"
"Yeah, on a Tuesday morning!"
"Yea, on SUMMER!!" she says emphasizing the word summer.
"Chill girl. OMG what a mood!! I'm calling you for something important." I say hoping to catch her attention and praying that she stops whining.
"What?" she asks.
"Well I wanted to ask you if you wanted to run with me two miles every morning from now on?" I asked crossing my fingers
"WHAT?" she asked again.
"I said that I wanted to ask you if you wanted to run with me every morning from now on?" I repeated but this time slowly so she could understand because apparently she wasn't fully awake yet.
"Are you seriously asking this?" she says with a disbelieving tone.
"Yes, is there any problem between you and running because we can talk about it you k now and sort things out" I replied mocking her.
"No, what I meant was are you really calling me at seven in the morning on a Tuesday during summer?!?!" she asked really annoyed now.
"Yes. Wasn't that what I just said?"
"I can't believe it," she said with a humorless laugh " I am going to kill you!" she said very slowly emphasizing every syllable.
"Oh! Come on...don't be so exaggerated! You know you can't kill me because then you would go to jail" I said, "and I'm not talking about juvy, they would probably charge you as an adult so the sentence probably will be worse."
"JAJAJA! Very funny" she said
"Anyways, are you serious about the working out thing?" she asked, now with interest in her voice.
"Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I be serious about it?" I replied.
"Have you even met yourself?"
"That is so...I don't know...stereotyping. Its like if you have never kissed a boy before then you will never kiss one, or if you have never eaten strawberry ice cream you will never eat it, or if you have never surfed you never will...Anyway my point is that because I don't usually do some things doesn't mean that I have an ulterior motive to do it now"
"Yeah right because I'm dumb and we live in Wonderland. I don't think so"
"You know what whatever. Can I drop by your house in like five minutes?" I asked.
"Of course you can. What kind of question is that?!?!?! But you must know that because of and by you I've been sleep deprived today."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah whatever. You'll get over it someday." I replied
