Chapter 10 "Oh how I wonder."

I think of a hundred thoughts and you are ninety-nine.

I means you're always in my mind. you made me happy in the simplest ways. I finally felt happy, i finally felt contented. But i can't be the only one who's gonna be happy i have to do something for Ainsley!

-alarm bell rings-

t'was morning, may school nanaman.

"Argh. Monday nanaman? Bilis ng araw takte." I complained. It was true, time was fast. parang kailan lang 'no?

Our doorbell rang. It was Ainsley.
"Gosh, i miss spending time with her". I quickly ran to the door. There she was. Nagpaalam na 'ko nun kay mom, then we left.

-on the way to the school-

"Si Carter kaya? Or si Liam!" I teased her. "Boba, sa tingin mo ba gusto ako non? Or gusto ko 'yung mga 'yon?" She answered. " Girl, you never know, plus, nakikita ko kung pano ka tingnan ni Carter. Bet ka non!" I teased her while we were on the way to school.

-arrived to school, finally-

"Hoy late nanaman kayo" Ang pag-asar samin ni Ryan. "Yaan mo 'yan, bida-bida naman talaga 'yan" pagbulong ko kay Ainsley habang pumapasok ng silid. We then pulled out our textbooks that were gonna be used for that subject.

*Recess Bell rings*

Naga-asaran kami ni Ainsley noon dahil sa maling sagot namin sa pinasagutan ng aming guro. Habang naglalakad para bumaba sa cafeteria, nakita namin 'yung grupo nila Alex kaya nama'y inaya namin sila na sumabay. Mitch and Graciella weren't there kasi may group project sila.

Did i tell you about the narrow stairs by the Building near our room? Yes. It was that narrow that it smelled like sweat dahil sa pawis ng mga estudyante na nagsi-siksikan doon. And since it was narrow, dala-dalawa lang ang pwedeng bumaba at a time. So me and alex, Ainsley and Carter. Tapos yung ibang friends nila is sumabay sa likuran.

When we got down, nauna na sila Alex kasi pupunta daw sila sa fields kasi may hinahanap sila. Kami naman ni Ainsley ay pumunta na sa Cafeteria. "So, how was it?" Tanong ko kay Ainsley. "Did you do that on purpose?" Sabi nya. "Maybe i did, or maybe i didn't" i said while chuckling.

She then told me what happened. The stairs were long so it wouldn't ve impossible to start a conversation or two.

C: So, how's being friends with Pauline knowing that she's dating Alex?

A: Everything's well naman, may stigma here and there pero mas pinipili kong maging masaya para kay pau.

C: Oh. Was Alex your first boyfriend?

A: Yeah, he sure is. First heartbreak too, hehe.

C: What do you feel about me being your second, if ever?

A: huh?—

Sabi niya natapos daw yung conversation nila kasi umalis na sila Carter.

I was shook— like bro, literally. Did Carter really make a move on my friend without me knowing? Wala rin naman na-kwento si Alex about this, maybe he didn't know or maybe he does and they just decided that it would be best if they told Ainsley in person and straight up.

I'm happy because Everything's going according to plan (•̀ᴗ-)

After that, the day went by as usual. Umuwi kami sa bahay, then we spent so much time on our phones. Nagchikahan kami ni Ainsley. She then asked me that "Anong gagawin mo kung gusto ko nga si Carter?" Sabi ko "Maglulumpasay siguro, magugulat na hinde, kasi marupok ka." tapos nagtawanan kami after.

I didn't think too much of that phone conversation kasi lagi naman kaming nagbibiruan non.

I still overthinked it. "What if she was serious, anong gagawin ko?" Hindi ko muna pinangunahan, i just waited for Ainsley to spill the tea.

"Girl, so ano nga? gusto mo siya?" I asked. "Gaga! pwede ba, tigilan mo 'ko. alam mo naman na wala akong panahon dyan sa mga bagay na ganyan." She answered. Which was true, considering that she's a consistent honor student since we met sa first grade. Ainsley is hella smart! Me on the otherhand, wasn't that academically well-off. I mean, okay lang naman. hindi kabobohan, hindi rin katalinuhan. Pero matalino sa love?
