America's POV
I wake up to the sound of my maid humming my fav song while working. I smile to myself knowing today I turn 17 and I can finally be a queen. I practically jump off the bed which scares my maids, they end up laughing with me.
"Mary, Anne and marlee I want u all to make me look like a future queen." I tell them and raise my chin proudly. They only giggle in response and help me get ready.
In the end I was wearing a blue dress fading into dark blue at the bottom and some long gloves which reach my elbows. My hair was done in a braided crown and a rose like bun. After they finished my makeup, they curtsied and I saw tears in anne's eyes.
I can understand why. She has basically looked after me my whole life. She's like a mother to me. (Anne is really old in this)
I work over to her and wipe her tears and hug her. Soon Mary and marlee join in as well
(Btw marlee is a 6 and not her bff yet but they are really close bc she's her maid)
I leave for breakfast. When I enter I see my mom and dad standing at the table waiting for me. I smile and walk towards them. Mom kisses me on both cheeks telling me how beautiful I look. I curtsey in front of dad but he hugs me taking me by surprise. It's been years since I hugged my father, he's so strict all the time. He puts me at arms length and beams at me.
"My daughter is gonna be the best queen in history"
I smile. That's alot of pressure
"And we have a surprise for u!"mom claps her hands together more excited than me.
"Can't the gift wait till after the party? Yk I like the feeling of opening all gifts at once"
I dodge and grab a hand trying to cover my eyes. I twist the hand behind the person's back
"Ow! Mer! It's me Aspen!" I release his hand. " I'm sorry but yk my training!"
I hear someone laughing so I turn to see celeste dying of laughter.
"I told him it was a bad idea to sneak up on u" I run and hug her.
"So that's your surprise gift" my mom says pointing at Aspen and celeste. "It's the best gift!"
Both of them noticed my parents and bowed in there way.
"Queen amberly, king Clarkson! I have gifts for both of u!" Celeste exclaimed. Mom looked happy but dad seems unleashed by her informality.
Aspen and celeste were siblings and children of one of my mom's friends from her selection. Aunt helen used to stay at the palace with us and I loved to have them here.but they eventually got their own house and moved.since I didn't have actual siblings I pretended celeste was my sister and Aspen as my best friend. Maybe more than a best friend..
We have dinner and go to the gardens to have fun. Celeste had bought a camera so we were messing with it."yk I've always wanted to do photography" I admit sadly. "it's so much fun! I've only started it but i can teach u." Celeste offered.
"No it's fine. I don't have time now that I have to start working with my dad and learn abt the works of a ruler."
