Chapter 21: Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Axl P.O.V./Slash P.O.V./ Alex P.O.V.

Axl P.O.V.-

"What color flowers would you like sir?", the small little lady at the funeral home asked. "Purple. She loves purple", I softly answered. The small woman wrote down some more things on her clipboard and as she came to a stop she began to speak again, "Okay, the last thing left is her summary. Here you can add in what her life was like, any achievements, your life together. Anything you would like to say about Mrs. Everly".

Where would I even start? With Erin you couldn't just write a summary. This girl could have books written about her. My girl. "Well, she was beautiful. Gorgeous brown hair, eyes like diamonds, she shined with her own light", I answered.

Slash P.O.V.-

I had never felt so useless in my life. " I could have helped her. I could have stopped this. She would still be here with us! Axl that son of a - !", Alex cut me off.

"Slash, baby. You can't change what happened. We didn't know what was happening between her and Axl. We can't turn back time, love. Erin wouldn't want us crying over her, you know that. She is safe now, happy, wherever she is, she is at peace." Alex's words had suprisingly calmed me down a bit. Her hand was caressing my cheek as she looked into my tear filled eyes.

Alex P.O.V.-

How could I sit here and tell Slash all these things as if everything was alright, as if I wasn't just as destroyed? I knew something was going on with her but I never thought anything like this. Erin being gone was taking a toll on all of us.

~Day Of Funeral~

Axl P.O.V.-

I could see the boys and Alex from where I sat. This service was almost as beautiful as Erin. Almost. The priest was coming to a closing when he asked if there were anyone else who would like to speak. I stood,  there was a song for Erin I had written and this was my only chance. When I pulled out the folded paper from my pocket,  I realized how much I was shaking. Once I positioned myself at the piano,  the words began to spill out.

And now I don't know why
She wouldn't say goodbye
But then it seems that I
Had seen it in her eyes

Axl P.O.V.-

I walked circles around this lake where Erin and I spent our good nights, where I could find her after every fight,  where she could find me on the nights where I lost myself. But as I walked I couldn't help but notice, the night sounds weren't so calming , the way the trees swayed weren't graceful, and the star filled sky didn't shine so bright anymore. Taking one last glance up at the sky before heading home, I spoke out loud. "I love you baby girl. This world ain't so beautiful without ya."
