"Sometimes Papa knows best"
Kuroo x Non binary reader

The ringing of the alarm made y/n groggily sit up in their bed—immediately regretting it as the cold morning chill sunk into their bones. They shivered and laid back down, reaching out grasp at their husband for warmth—only to feel an empty spot beside them.
This caught y/n's attention, who sat up again and ignored the chill of morning to rub their eyes and peer at their husband's side of the bed. Sure enough, their beloved husband—Kuroo was no where to be found. What was stranger though, was it was one of Kuroo's days off—meaning he should have still been in bed.  "Where did he go.." They muttered, rising from their fluffy and warm comforter to wander out into the hallway.
Their walk was slow, mostly from tiredness but also from admiring the hallway—it wasn't really anything out of the ordinary for a small family home.. But what Y/n was admiring was the several framed photos of memories of their family they built with Kuroo.

Birthdays, cheesy Christmas photos, their little girls dressed up in princess costumes with Kuroo being their knight in shining armor—it made Y/n's heart feel warm. Their baby girls, four girls to be exact—were the apples of Kuroo's eyes, falling in love with them as soon as he met them. He doted on them and tried to be the best father he could for them, and the girls adored him back for it.
But a voice interrupted Y/n's reminiscing—followed by several choruses of giggles which could only belong to the little angels in question. "Hima, hold still for me okay?? Otherwise your hair will be a mess!" The voice whisper-shouted, but Y/n could recognize it anywhere—the voice belonging to none other than Kuroo.

They smiled, quietly following the sound to the girl's shared bedroom, peering through the doorway to spot Kuroo—still in his pajamas, carefully braiding one of their daughter's hair. Their other three daughters were all playing with each other, smiling and giggling.
"Emiko! Don't mess with Chieko's hair!" Kuroo scolded, clicking his tongue at your second eldest and your youngest who were play-fighting. Exasperated he turned towards the doorway only to perk up seeing Y/n.
"What are you doing up? You should be in bed!" He stated, momentarily pausing in his braiding to speak to his spouse. "Well I was, but you weren't there anymore—and besides I think I can help you with your little dilemma." Y/n laughed, urging Kuroo to scooch on the floor as they carefully finished the braid Kuroo started.
Their daughter, Hima—smiled and hugged both her parents before going off to join the game all her sisters were playing. "I was able to do the other three's hair easily, but Hima refuses to sit still for anything." Kuroo states, pressing a chaste kiss to Y/n's forehead. His eyes shone with love as he wrapped an arm around their waist, pulling them into his lap as they watched the girls play.
"She takes after you, our little go getter." Y/n says, leaning into Kuroo's touch. "I love our little family.."

This mere sentence caused Kuroo to break out into an even bigger smile. His own heart swelling with pride.

"Yeah and I love you, always and forever.."
