I walked to Potions with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Snape glared at us as we walked in. Of course, he would, I was a pureblooded Gryffindor. And I was proud of it. Snape's glare couldn't break that. As I walked inside, I noticed the tables had been arranged in a different pattern, only allowing two students to sit at one.

"Today you will be working in pairs with students from the opposite house to promote inter-house community as Dumbledore has asked for it." He said through gritted teeth. He started calling out names. I prayed that I wouldn't end up with... "Malfoy and Y/L/N." Snape said. I walked over to Draco, sighing as I sat down. We were always fighting with each other. I didn't think Snape's decision was good having us work together.

"Today you will be brewing Amorentia, instructions are in your book." Snape said, then turned to go sit on his desk. "Go get the ingredients and I'll start reading the instructions." I told Malfoy.

"Ugh." He grunted as he got up to get the things. He got the ingredients and I started adding them into the cauldron. He leaned in to look at the contents. His cologne washed over me, and I slightly melted. "You're doing it wrong." He whispered, his minty breath on my neck. My heart hammered at the close proximity in which he was with.

I snapped myself out of my daze and stepped back. "You do it then if you're so sure." I told him. He looked back, his gaze meeting mine. His eyes were silver, and I never before had realized they glowed in the dim light of the classroom.

"I will." He snapped, reaching forward to take the mixing stick from me. As his cold hands touched mine, an electric shock went through me. He gasped a little, dropping the stick, and I knew he had felt the same. I picked it up, handing it to him and stepped back. He worked on the potion, ignoring me.

What was happening? I was a Gryffindor, he was a Slytherin. I was kind, and he was a bully. Draco Malfoy was my number one enemy...then why did I feel so different around him today?

It was soon time to finish the potion. I walked forward to it. Malfoy stirred it one last time, setting the stick aside. I leaned forward smelling it, as did he. "Ugh it didn't work! I can't smell anything over your horrendous vanilla perfume." Malfoy complained.

"Excuse me, maybe I would smell something if it wasn't for your overwhelming cologne clogging up the air." I snapped back. We slumped back, waiting for Snape to come over. He did, leaning down and sniffing it.

"A perfect potion." He said, marking it on his sheet and walking away. I looked over at Malfoy as he looked over at me.

A realization hit both of us.
