Chapter 14: Restless

After some days of helping out with the recovery of many Corps members, and others turning back to humans from their previous spider form, you finally had a brief moment of relaxation while other members were slowly recovering enough to go to the Full Recovery Training which you now had to participate in. You would usually go for the game of tag and helping the 3 girls to make their bodies flexible again after being bedridden for a long time.
You honestly didn't mind since it gave you something to do while waiting for your own missions, it also helped you stay active in a way.

"We still have Those three to take care of, right?" you approached Aoi who was walking out of the Dojo towards the kitchen, "It seems like it, but I'm pretty sure it will be quick" She replied. You both made it to the kitchen and she started preparing the food for the rest of the injured, you stayed there helping out with the trays and dishes. "Remember the order I gave them to you, since one has his throat messed up, one is still recovering his limbs from almost turning into a spider and the last one is all normal".
After you received these instructions you hurried to the hospital ward.

When you were about to slide open the door, someone else abruptly did it and ran out. You were pretty confused about the whole situation, but you remembered that person who ran away, he was brought into the Pillar Meeting to give in detail what had happened in Natagumo Mountain, you remember that everyone including you, were heavily criticizing him and his team as they didn't know how to follow orders, and the cultivators for not being able to differentiate a good swordsman from a bad one.

Even so, you entered the room only to find Shinobu in there, talking to the weird trio about the Recovery Training which they would have to partake in. Now it made sense why he ran away.
You slightly smiled and blushed while looking at her, then cleared your throat "Before that please eat up! this was made especially for you" you then handed each their special tray with their designated food for each.

Both you and Shinobu left the room quickly after that, "Oh my, I truly did not know that the great 'Masked Slayer' would look so sweet wearing an apron just like Aoi's" she teased you which made you very flustered to the point that you decided to turn away from her. She looked at you in surprise due to the fact that she was joking around.
"I.. Still have things to do, so please excuse me!" You said as you ran to the garden where Aoi was, hanging clothes and sheets.

"...Do you think i look sweet wearing this..?" You asked out of the blue, Aoi stood still, taking a second to process what you had just asked. "Out of the respect that I have for my senior i will not answer that!" She said still visibly confused. "Please forget that I asked you that" you now said very embarrassed.
"Anyway, we have two new members that we must help recover. The famous trio, but i think we're starting with Inosuke and Tanjiro since Zenitsu hasn't fully recovered his limbs. We'll start in the afternoon" you explained as you helped Aoi hang sheets on the highest string.

After a couple of hours had passed you changed back to your uniform trying to avoid Shinobu for a moment since you still felt embarrassed about what she said. Once you arrived Naho, Kiyo, Sumi and Aoi were already waiting for them but they were nowhere to be seen. "Let me look for them, I'll bring Kanao as well!" You ran back to the hospital ward to bring them to the Dojo. "Alright, please go straight, then turn to the left and the first door to the right will be the Dojo. The girls will explain, I'll be there in a few minutes!" You said as you ran off to look for Kanao.

Before you reached her you stumbled upon Shinobu who was just leaving her room, you immediately stopped in front of her and she just looked up at you, smiling without saying a word. This made you nervous and still a bit embarrassed. "...Have you seen Kanao? We're about to start the next Recovery Training."
She didn't say anything and instead stared at you, still smiling. You started nervously sweating. "Are you alright?" She simply asked, "I'm sorry about this morning, i was simply joking around. But I think you didn't take it in a good way" she now started to look more apologetic. You still felt embarrassed about it but had to leave it behind so it wouldn't affect the way you spoke or felt around her.
"It's alright!" You accidentally yelled in the same manner that Rengoku does, "I just felt very embarrassed about it, forgive me as well" You bowed a little, approached her and kissed her on her forehead as you ran off to keep looking for Kanao.
