A/N: i feel like the past 3 chapters have been them sitting outside i promise the storyline will speed up soon i just figured the last sentence would'be been the only suitable ending for the chapter yes i hope u likeThe phrase echoed repeatedly in my head, leaving me wordless with no option other than to fix my gaze into the depth of his blue eyes and try to comprehend whether or not this whole thing was simply a figment of my imagination, or he genuinely just asked that question.
I felt my heart hammer in my ears as my lips parted slightly, inhaling a shaky breath as I fixed our gaze, realizing we were halfway there already in terms of the distance between our lips.
It only took a heartbeat longer for me to respond with a shaky whisper.
"...Yes."I felt him swallow as he gave me a little half-smile, and without further hesitation, gently leaned in the remaining distance, and touched his soft, slightly warm lips to my own.
My heart, by this point, had proved the previous activity to be only some kind of training, as the second Louis' lips met my own, it seemed to upgrade from a gold medallist in gymnastics, to Olympic standard. I felt my face begin to burn up unexpectedly with a crimson blush that I hoped Louis managed to disregard, and my adrenaline-filled stomach began to partake in many thrilled flips with the contact of the beautiful boy's lips on my own.
I could feel the shyness in his gentle pecks to my lips, as if he was searching for my permission before making any further action in fear of making a wrong move. I gently gave him a sense of reassurance by cupping his cheek, softly stroking my thumb across the flawless skin as I tilted my head further into the kiss, letting him know that this was what I wanted, not a result of my awkward politeness.
And holy hell, did I want it.
We pulled away after a couple of seconds, the only audible noise filling the night being our uneven breathing as we sighed into the space between us, trying to comprehend what actually happened.
Louis flashed his eyes up at me, giving me a soft smile despite his fluster.
"That was... nice." He gulped, his voice unusually scratchy.I swallowed my nerves. "Yeah, it-... was."
We both sat, still in each-other's arms, both of us equally clueless on how exactly to act now. Excusably, I was about as educated on the whole 'relationship' stance as an eleven year old boy. It was Louis who surprised me, considering the amount of experience he'd had.
I'd have expected him to come across with the whole "playing it cool" act, brushing such a small romantic gesture off with a flick of his hair, and a tweak of the leather jacket. Although his hair was too messily tousled to flick around, and his absence of the leather jacket only left behind the loosely hanging black t-shirt he was wearing underneath.
And he looked about as clueless as I did.
He suddenly sighed, pulling me in closer and snuggling into my chest.
"Cold again?" I joked softly, although I returned the favour and appreciated the warmth of his chest.
"Very." He mumbled quietly.
"It's the middle of summer." I mocked his contradiction from about half an hour ago.
He chuckled, his hair nestling into the crook of my neck. "Don't care." He disregarded the reference I was making. "Your chest makes a better pillow than anything back in the tent."
I tried (and miserably failed) to keep my embarrassingly broad grin hidden from him, although I could sense he'd noticed by the way he'd glanced up at me, and was grinning in nearly precisely the same fashion.
