Frost POV
"Bite!" I called, running towards him with my arms outstretched. As I collided into him, I threw my arms around him. "Frost!" Bite replied, a look of joy on his face as he hugged me back. "I've missed you!"
I had been out of the country for two months now, to get treatment for my lung cancer. I had kept this a secret from Bite, because I didn't want him to worry. He had made me promise to tell him everything, but I told myself this was for his own good. He had thought I was out of the country for work, but it was really for treatment. I hated keeping secrets from Bite, but this time I had to. My cancer was extremely advanced, and I wanted to treasure these last minutes with him as much as possible without any restrictions that Bite might put in place for my safety.
Hugging Bite as he hugged me back might be the best feeling in the world. We held on to each other so tightly it felt like we were the only things keeping one another alive. After what seemed like an eternity, Bite slowly pulled away from me. I whimpered softly and pulled him back towards me, knowing that this could be the last time I ever saw him.
"What's wrong, Frost?" Bite asked. "I just don't want you to let go of me, ever," I whispered softly. Bite smiled softly and pulled me closer to him again, back into the warm security of his arms. "I'll never let you go," he whispered back.
