"Seriously! You saw that this morning!" Mabel shouted in my face.
I lunged forward placing my hand over her mouth. Mabel giggling helplessly behind my hands.
"Can you hush please?! I don't want the entire school hearing about my problem."
They pealed my hand away from her mouth swaying her head, "I'm sorry Brianna, but this is just hilarious."
I huffed and sat back into my seat. Deciding to ignore my laughing friends, I opened one of my text books as I waiting for the teacher to come into the room. In the back of my mind I knew I would be spending the rest of the day trying to forget.
Briefly lifting my head up from my book, I saw a familiar face looking down at me. His eyes captured mine effortlessly.
"Good Morning Brianna," he said.
I smiled without a second thought, "Morning Carter, what's up?" I asked quietly.
He smiled and shrugged, "Nothing," he said then his tone changed. "So I'm guessing your not mad at me anymore?" he asked.
I smirked. Truthfully my mind did a factory reset this morning after I saw my parents in the kitchen.
"How'd you know?" I inquired clicking my tongue.
He smiled, "Your smile told me all I needed to know," he answered quietly.
Damn! That was smooth! I could feel the hormones coursing through me rushing down to my core. Great! Now I think I've been bitten by the spring fever bug! I'm crushing on Carter!
Before I could stop it a giggle escaped my mouth. Quickly my hand flew up to my mouth as I trapped my reaction in my throat. Nope! I was not going to be one of those "love" struck teenage girls who can't form two damn syllables around there prospective lovers.
"Brianna? Are you okay?" Carter asked, probably noticing that I had spaced out with my hand on over my mouth.
I jerked my head over to him, widening my eyes. Quickly, I decided to change the subject. I dug into my book bag and reached for the chocolate I bought for him at supermarket.
"Carter, I apologize for what happened yesterday. Here take this."
I handed him the chocolate bar his face lit up so brightly, he looked like a five year old who just got his first pet.
He reached over to me and slung his arms around my neck. His face was inches away from mine. Believe it or not we had been in this situation before, I never took it for anything then, but now. I was so nervous I swore my legs would betray me and melt like warm cheese.
"Thank you so much Brianna. You always know how to brighten my day."
Then he planted a kiss on my cheek!
Aaaaaahhhhhh!
"Uh-huh," I said tentatively, slowly shifting my body away from his. I can't tell you how much my heart was racing but somehow I kept it all under control.
Inconspicuously wriggling from his grasp, I acted as normal as possible. I rose to my feet then started running. I dashed out of the room just as the teacher walked in.
"Uh Ms. Harrison where are you going?" he called after me.
"-Bathroom!" I shouted as I disappeared down the hall.
I could almost hear Mabel say, "Qual es su problema?"
I scurried out one of the side exits, as soon as I broke threw the threshold I doubled over and threw my guts up.
