We were sitting on my front porch. Gennie had her knees to her chest and was looking at the stars. I was lying down next to her. She looked so beautiful. The moon light shining on her hair making it shine. They way her eyes lit up when she looked at the sky. Everything about her just seemed to light up every time she looked at the sky, which wasn't that often. She normally looked down, like she was studying the ground.
"It's so beautiful." Gennie said pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, yes it is." I replied.
"Did you ever get to see the stars in New York?"
"No. The only way I knew they existed was in books."
"Mmm. They are so pretty."
"Yeah." She laid down next to me. That night just seemed so perfect.
"Do you do this often?" I asked.
"No. Not really." she replied. I looked at her and she looked at me. It was just like something you would see in the movies. I flipped over on my side, so I could see her. I studied her face. She had freckles that were hard to see during the day. She had a little scar next to her lips, and a little ring of green around her hazel eyes. She was so beautiful. "Take a picture it'll last longer." she giggled. "I'm good." I said as I flipped back over on my back. "If you wouldn't mind me asking how did you get those scars?" I asked. She looked at me then back up at the sky."I had this friend. She had helped me through everything, break-ups, family, people at school, and lots of other things..."she took a ragged breath,"Then one day she gets called into the office. Her mom had gone to jail and her dad gained full custody of her. I saw her the next day and all she said was that I looked like crap." I looked at her, I could tell that she was trying to hold back tears, but she wasn't successful. I just sat there saying nothing. She then got up and went back into the house. She was sitting on the barstool in the kitchen, finishing up the project. I suddenly got the urge to hug her. Before I knew what I was doing I went up behind her, wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my chin on her shoulder. She jumped at first but then relaxed. A smile crept onto her lips, then she laughed that beautiful laugh of hers. Boy was I falling fast and hard for her. She was unlike any other girl that I had "fallen in love" with. "You can let go you know?" she giggled. "Mmmm, nah I think I'm good." I replied. She turned around to face me, "Really?"
"Really." I said. Before I knew what I was doing I brought my face closer to hers. She moved her lips out of my way making me kiss her cheek. My face got really hot. I let go of her. "S-sorry." I stuttered. Why am I stuttering? I never stutter; like ever.
"It's okay I guess." she whispered. I went to go get a drink and she took off. Why do I have to be so stupid? I just met her the other day, we're not even together. I found her sitting on the couch with Xbox controllers sitting on the table. I smiled at her and she blushed. I went and sat next to her, then grabbed a controller. We played Soul Calibur V. She was really good at it. I gave up after an hour of being beat. "How did you beat me? I'm like the national champ at this game." I said. "I've played a few times." she giggled. I brought my face close to her ear to whisper something and at that moment the doorbell rang. I got up and opened it. To my surprise one of my ex girlfriends from New York was standing on the other side. Next thing I know she threw her arms around me and smashed her lips into mine. I pushed her away ,"What the crap, Ellie? Why are you here?" "I missed you. I that a crime or something?" she pouted. "Actually yeah it is. Where.....how did you get here?"
"I got my license and decided to come visit my boyfriend." Gennie appeared behind me, her face was really red and it wasn't from blushing. "Don't you understand the meaning of we're over? Geez girl get a life. He's mine!" she said before she grabbed me by my shirt and kissed me. I will admit I melted into the kiss. When she pulled away I looked at Ellie. If her mouth was any bigger her jaw would have been on the ground. "Oh...umm...okay. I guess I'll be going then." Ellie said before she turned around to get in her car. I closed the door and faced Gennie. "What was that all about?" she asked.
"Umm that was my ex and honestly I have no idea. H-how did you know that she wasn't....that we weren't together?" I said.
"I could tell by the way you acted. Oh and that kiss never happened okay?"
"Yeah." I blushed a little. Gennie smiled at me then went back to the living room. She sat in the same spot on the couch before that whole thing happened. I went to the kitchen and got us some water and brought it back to the living room. She was playing Soul Calibur V when I got back.
