Minho's POV

I was walking down the street with Thomas. We were on our way back to his house after a long day of shopping.

"What do you think I should get Teresa for Christmas?" Thomas asks.

"How should I know? She's not my girlfriend," I respond, getting a death stare from Thomas.

I keep thinking about it as we get in line for some food. Who would've thought that McDonalds would be busy at noon? As we waited in line to order, my mind began to wonder. What would it be like to finally see color? To have someone to spend your life with? I've had Thomas explain the colors for me, but I feel like there's something I'm missing out on.

When it's our turn to order I let Thomas order for me. He always seems to know what everyone will like. We have to go stand with some other people who are also waiting for their food. I don't mind because this give me more time to fantasize. I wish I didn't have to wait this long. For food and for my soulmate. The group gets smaller and smaller as people gets their food. My time thinking is cut short when they call our number and Thomas moves to get our food.

We take it outside to eat and not much happens besides some guy walking past us in a panda suit. Thomas and I keep brainstorming ideas of what to get Teresa for Christmas. I personally think he should make something for her but he insists that it would be terrible.

Teresa asked us to bring her food at her internship. So Thomas and I quickly went to the building she interns at. We actually ended up staying longer than we thought we would. There are a lot of nice people interning with her.

An alarm goes off. It drowns out the conversations and grabs everyone's attention. We follow Teresa as she shows us the evacuation plan. There's are people coming from the other side of the hall into the hallway. Someone close to the stairwell door opens it. We were not expecting a wall of fire on the other side. The guy stumbles back and the fire starts to spread into the hall. A girl quickly shuts the door. It was too late, the fire had already made its way into here.

A different boy is giving orders now. We all head into the room across the hall and close the door. We can't get out from the windows because we are ten floors up. A few more boys help the leader open all the windows. They put anything they can to hang out the windows to let others know we are up here.

It's half an hour before fire fighters can get to us. And most people are having a hard time breathing by now. They start to take out the people most effected first. This doesn't include me or my friends.

The building starts to creek and we all look around. I look up and make eye contact with a boy. I can see color, the fire is so bright and the boys eyes are just perfect. He smiles at me but before we can do anything, part of the ceiling falls and traps him and a few other people in there far end of the room. The firefighters come in to take the ones who weren't tapped out. I go to the hospital with a few other people, including Thomas and Teresa.

I'm still freaking out, like I can't breathe. This is insane. I finally see my soulmate and what? He just goes and gets trapped behind a fiery wall? This is definitely not how I thought that would go. Well now I have to find him. He has to be going to the hospital so I'll see if I can stay and look for him.

After an hour of waiting, they finally have everyone that was stuck on that floor with us. The boy was brought in but I decided to let him rest a little because he didn't look he was doing that great at the moment. I tell a nurse after she comes out of the room to let me know when he is awake so I can see him. She looked reluctant but when I told her the situation she agreed.

The nurse tells me that he should be waking up soon and that I can go into the room. I go and sit on the chair near the window. The boy starts to stir so I scoot a little bit closer. His head turns over.

It takes him a minute but when he does he gives a tired smile.

"Hey," I say

"Hi"

Ok wow that took a turn that I didn't really want to take but here we are now as I kinda hate it so I might do a different version. Anyway I hope this is ok. Have a nice day (or night).
